Wishing a merry Xmas & happy new year to all, except for anyone connected to the Collingwood football club in any capacity.

In 2024 I wish for a string of close losses that wipe the grin off McCrae’s face, and have him transitioning from a calm coaching messiah to a man that’s about to blow his stack.

I say this because I’ve witnessed a hint of a mad glint in his eyes when his team has been up against it in certain games, (which all good coaches might have) which to me was suggestive of something darker lurking just below the surface of the ‘happy culture vibe’ that he’s been presenting.

And there would be nothing better to test this persona than a string of close losses resulting from his older players (basically half the side) being unable to replicate the work rate of 2023; other teams improving and an injury or two to key players sucking the energy and enthusiasm out of the team which only just scrapes into the eight, only to be dispatched by a resurgent Richmond outfit that improves throughout the season as it fine tunes it’s own revised game plan.
