Maurice Rioli Jnr

I am on record saying he would play round one.

Bit disappointed he is yet to debut.

We need to end the MRJ farce

Maurice senior was the best tackler I've ever seen, MoJo looks to be an outstanding tackler too, got a feeling junior is going to give us a lot of joy nailing opposition players.
i chatted with Jnr at the Club 80 dinner, his face had the biggest smile when i told him his dad was one of my fav players, and i cant wait to see him and Daniel terrorising the opposition with their tackling
exciting times ahead

Reckon Dimma would be tempted to name him this week.

You have to bring more to the table than just indigenocity
Yep gotta bring some Harlem Globetrotterocity (I think I just made up a word) like Sheds and Shai or some Ferocity like Marlion, Nigel, or in Stackies case both.

Dekkas got skill but he's got to bring some intensirocity to his game.

Can't rush him too fast, first game. Let him build the bond the rest of players and earn his spot. Then he will be a great player.
Yer, I totally understand the excitement and impatience to see MRJ succeed but he's still so young and very inexperienced in playing against mature men. Look at how poor the Aints's AFL side were. So does that make Sandy, their VFL side, a great standard. That club has several good types out injured too.

Many on here thought Martyn was ready after strong VFL showings, but look at how he went in the PA game. There's probably a bigger gap than ever between these levels after Covid '20. So now he's sent back to regain form and confidence. So why haven't we given RCD his chance? His form in the same VFL game was impressive, playing mid all game. Ross cannot secure a spot either. Even strong VFL form with a heap of great stats does not automatically translate to AFL.

MRJ developing nicely; just let him work his way up to being irresistible for an AFL debut, whenever that is. When our coaches think he's totally ready.

I dunno, he's doing some freaky things against men that make me think he no far away at all.
X said that the he's getting a heap of midfield minutes & they're surprised at how well he's running out the game. So perhaps his fitness is pretty good?
Could that equate to an AFL forward pocket debut?? Soon I reckon..maybe hunt down a few slow Cats..

Love the run down tackle. Look forward to many from MJ over the years. This was one of my faves when the game was on the line in a Dreamtime game.

On the talking tiger podcast Balmey was asked about MRJ. You could almost hear him salivating through the microphone. Paraphrasing “ He is nowhere near fit enough yet but boy is he exciting. I’d be very surprised if we don’t see him at some stage during the season”

That makes me sad. Haven't seen that burst of pace since the 2017 Grand Final. That broken foot must have taken away some of his explosiveness.
