Matthew Parker

Parker is an experiment in urgency vs efficiency.

An experiment we repeated at the expense of Roland Dow.

Dow was better but terrible.

He’s doing his absolute best and until our side settles down after injuries etc to key players I am not going to knock him.
I am with you Bugsy & these Parker knockers should hang there bloody heads in shame. Parker not spoon fed & has done it the bloody hard way getting through the system. 10/10 for application from me. I would have luvved him to have lined up against Langdon Sunday night but came on when the game was lost.

This isn’t junior footy where we give out participation awards. No one is knocking Parker’s desire but his lack of football skills.

I’ve been an advocate of MP but we are now going down a different path than the one we thought we were going down last year and now obviously in this year so yeah, I’d like to see his games given to a kid.

I‘d like to think Parker doesn’t get a game and see him as a sort of barometer. If he’s in the team we’re struggling.
He is all effort and guts and energy but simply lacks the composure and class - especially with kicking skills - required at AFL level.
Nothing personal against the bloke at all.

PS - If only blokes like RCD, Dow and the like could learn from the way he throws himself into contests

I'd like to see Parker playing a few games when Dusty is in
Parker goes and gets hard ball and often not many options other than dump kick , I know he has butchered the ball when he has had time too

But Dusty is they type that reads the play and could some how arrive in time to be an option , because that's what Dusty does
could be the making of Parker , its a fine line and if Dusty and Prestia can give him handball options it could be whats needed

its an "almost" player. Almost takes the good mark, almost hits the target. Love his aggression on the ball and player - AFL standard, but sadly is VFL/WAFL skill. Can he develop further? Maybe. Would keep him on the list 1 more year.

A failed experiment Jack.

I have great respect and admiration at how hard he has worked for the opportunity. However, the RFC is not a charity.

Time to move on.

Experiments are successful when they yield information, AT. Parker heat out. Baker lack of heat out. MoJu, Stack heat in.

Nothing is clear yet. We'll keep testing.

Maybe we'll get it right. We've measured the preeemiers of last year.

True, but probably not a useful metric.

Dusty could make me look good.

Hmm yeah , but I suspect Matty P's work rate and hard ball gets will be a tad higher than yours and mine :ROFLMAO:

The match committee has a bit to play with

Tries hard but field kicking just not at the standard we need.

Its funny but I reckon we "Need" one of his type.

We dont have any others.
He might not be up to it in the end but we need a mid size forward that can run tackle, leap , have some midfield time and kick goals. Cant think of anyone else on the list that can do it

When we dont have 3-4-5-6 of our best out all out once is an OK depth player. #26-34 on the list. Not a list clogger at this stage. Entire list can not all be A grade/elite.
