Little things that annoy you....

A pet hate of mine is people who sit in the right lane of freeways when not overtaking. But worse than them are those who tailgate, which is dangerous. Late yesterday afternoon I was overtaking in the right lane of the Monash, probably doing about 110. Out of nowhere this kid in an Audi is up my arse, must have been doing 140 at least. I can see his lips moving in the rearview mirror as he's cursing me so I drop it back to 105 and take my time switching back lanes. He roars past me but finds more traffic ahead (right lane Sunday drivers) and I end up behind him. I drove right up his arse just for a second before remembering not to be a *smile*. Finally an extra lane opens up and he's off, weaving through traffic.

A few minutes later I'm back in the left lane when I see police lights flashing on the side of the road up ahead. "Oh, please, please, please... YES! You beauty!" I toot my horn at the *smile*wit as I drive by. Justice served. Made my weekend.

Thats made my day as well. Forget if I've already posted this, but something that annoys, and concerns me, is the amount of young drivers, P-platers especially, texting while driving on the freeway. I drive on the Pacific Hwy between the Gold Coast and Brisbane a fair bit, its unblievable. 110k limit, heavy 4 lanes of traffic, the busiest road in Aus. Often you'll spot a car drifting slightly, or even a fair bit, then jerk back into their lane, then do it again, and again, and again. I've now taken to playing 'spot the facebooking P-plater' with passengers. You'll see between 3 and 10, usually young girls. I don't think these young people understand the margins of error and the consequences of sideswiping cars at 110kmp/h. Its a real worry.

Working with people from Geelong. Only a day left of having to listen to all their daft conversation.

About some inane rubbish they read in the Addy.
About how Gary Hocking used to be the dustman in their street.
About how there is some inherent difference between people from Jan Juc and people from Torquay, and that one group is somehow deserving of scorn and derision compared to the other (don't ask me which, it was all too confusing and boring).
About how they had some health problem and in order to see a consulting surgeon had to go TO MELBOURNE, and the tone makes it sound like they undertook some arduous and exotic journey to the moon. It's an hour on the train!

I live in outer south east in Officer. The train ride is OVER an hour and I do it twice a day!

Bad, insulting, bad advertising.

Walked past a bus shelter this morning and it had a big 'side of the shelter' ad on it featuring a youngish black guy and an older black guy, with the young one resting on the older guy's head. The caption underneath the picture read "love knows no shade", or some such tripe. All an ad for, you guessed it... Gap Jeans.

The lack of a water park here in victoria, in one of the hottest states during summer we don't have one, the only resemblence of one is 20k out of geelong going towards the bellarine peninsula, great if you live down there but a million miles away for anyone else. One can only do the beach or the local pool before that becomes boring, give me waterslides and lots of them, would never get bored of them on a hot day.

I know qld have there's but what about other states, they get hot weather as well.

There is actually one up at Whittlesea Tommo, can't remember the name but isn't too far north of the city.

The car park at that Whittlesea water place resembles a block buster at the G at times. Very popular place.

Great fun if you're a sardine

wet and wild on the gold coast can make you laugh and grin like a 10 year old. It is SERIOUS belly laughing fun/terror. You got to go on monday afternoon in August though or your paying $100 to stand in a queue.

I took my kids to White Water world 2 years ago. I reckon I calculated I stood in queues for 6 hrs and spent about 15 minutes of actual ride times and thats probably being generous as each slide ride took a few seconds!

The scourge of computer games in libraries.

Hordes of kids hovered around big plasma screens playing playstation or Wii or whatever it is and noisily commenting while playing.

Then you go into the quiet computer room and there`s kids in there playing computer games banging on the space bar and commentating their games.

Does anyone remember when libraries were quiet?

And when you need to use one to print out (as I don't have a printer at home), they're already 'OUT OF USE' coz those video games carry viruses.

I walked past a couple of kids (~ 12 years old) once and noticed they were looking at porn. Where are the parents?
