Leppa heads north

Well done to Leppa

Probably gives us a better chance of picking up one of their wantaway players, although I hope it doesn't backfire and Dustin goes up there.
Brisvegas the last club pretending to still be openly sniffing around Dusty. Leppa knows him well n perhaps getting away from the footy circus in Melb. would be the best thing possible for Dusty's future.
Pretty sure Leppa would be respectful enough to at least ensure we got a fair deal in an ensuing trade for one of their homesick youngsters, possibly an exchange of later picks to balance the deal.
Would be more than happy to keep Dusty at Tigerland, but if he wants to leave n chase the big contract, then work it out n move forward.

Also if any of the hungreds of comments about things happening that no one knows about with Martin then Leppa would be well aware of this and could go there and just say no to him coming. I would have thought the last thing a new coach would want is a possible loose cannon at the club that he brought in.

I hope we go after Cameron Ling.

Ling would be a great get.

I don't know about how the timing would be for him (media, etc), but the timing for us would be perfect.

Always thought highly of Kevin Sheedy's life / football progression, in that it isn't always the naturally talented that make the best coaches but sometimes the not so naturally talented ones, who've had to work through the fundamental building blocks to hone their craft.

To replace Leppitsch, I'd be looking for one of these types who have worked to become a KPP, and have a good defensive sense.

Of those currently AFL coaching:
Adelaide - Darren Milburn
Carlton - John Barker
Collingwood - Ben Hart
Essendon - Sean Wellman
Geelong - Max Rooke
Giants - Stephen Silvagni
St Kilda - Danny Sexton, Dean Laidley
Sydney - John Blakey

Some state-based coaches:
Casey - Rohan Welsh
Port Melbourne - Gary Ayres
North Adelaide - Josh Francou
Norwood - Nathan Bassett
Port Adelaide - Ken McGregor
West Adelaide - Andy Collins (Still a big fan of his.)
Subiaco - Chris Waterman

Yes, some of the above aren't KPPs, but have been good defenders.

Others, to pull some names out of a hat, may include - Tom Harley, Nick Holland, Nigel Smart, Alistair Lynch, Martin Pike, Terry or Neil Daniher, Dean Wallis, Dustin Fletcher, Scott Lucas, Luke McPharlin, Corey McKernan, Wayne Carey (dare I say it), Warren Tredrea, Chad Cornes, Joel Bowden, Andrew Kellaway, Scott Turner, the Wakelins, Max Hughton, Darren Glass, Ash McIntosh, Glen Jakovich, Luke Darcy, Matt Croft, Steve Kretiuk.

I know I'm just pulling names out of a hat here.

A laughed when I saw Steven Baker, although a small defender, but you never know.

Watching Leppa on 360 tonight. His new polo shirt is a great colour match for him. Let's replace one BN for another with Lingy.

yeh I would like some Sydney or Geelong culture and inside thinking come to the club - any suggestions from there as possible replacements would do nicely

good sign for a our culture that assistants are leaving for a head job.

Ouch. That hurts. But he seems to be taking a break rather than going to a rival club, which sort of lessens the pain a bit.
