Leon Cameron Retires

Well done Leon on a great career. Congratulations!! I hope the club recognises your professionalism, leadership and silky skills and keeps you at the club. It was nice to go and watch you play with those nice smooth silky skills, and easy on the eye as well ;D

Good luck and hope the guys can pull one out of the bag for you and Jack this Sunday.

Well done Cameron on a great career. Always gave his all. Lets hope the club can do the right thing and give his spot on the list to a promising, SKILLFUL youngster rather than a washed up hack.

Leon has retired at the right time and gains more respect for this...................hopefully rogers and duncan can do the same instead of bleeding the already fragile club dry.

One of their shinning lights as far as recruiting goes......it saddens me that there is still no press conference for that dud Kellaway.....if Cmaeron goes and he stays on it is a joke.

Agree Laff. Cameron is a better player than both Duncan and Rogers. If he retires, the others have no justification whatsover in hanging around.

Well done Leon, he added a touch of class along the tigers team, and i dont think i will ever see a player kick as well as he did on both feet. Watching him kick on the right perfectly and then on the left in the same game was amazing.

congratulations leon on a great career my only regret is you came to the tiges about 10yrs to late. You have been good for us short term but the decision to bring you to the club has really cost us in the long term i can just see mitch hahn and ryan hargraves running around in a richmond jumper right now (the 2 draft picks we gave away for you ) and just goes to show you should never trade for someone older than 22 or 23 years of age all the best in the future leon i hope the club finds a role for you to do as we are in desperate need of people with a good footy brain.

congrats, leon! all the best, and thanks for everything the past. you've been an awesome player, and hopefully we'll be seeing more of you at RFC in the future.

He had a terrific year in 2001. I thought he was one of the main reasons we made the finals and did so well that year, sweeping across halfback. Hopefully now we can get him to join the coaching panel in some way, other then more retired st kilda players.

They are probably being guided by the coaching staff as to whether they have a place next year. If this is so then just another example of their committment to rebuilding for the future.

They have both been great servants of the club, but time to create space for the future.

Thanks to Leon Cameron for his contribution to the Richmond Football club over the past 4 years.

His class and poise will be sorely missed.

Danny Frawely acknowledged Leon's HONESTY by retiring in that he couldn't offer the club anything more.......................its time for you to be honest aswell spud.

Maybe we should mail him a copy of the Video Harry and hope he takes the hint.

Well done leon on a stellar career both with the Tigers and the Bulldogs.

He certainly exemplified what is to be as a classy and skillful player and will be sorely missed .

Some thought you might have had another season left in ya but like the professional you are you could at least see that your time was up.........take note others

All the best in what ever comes your way

Leon Cameron = Pure Class.

At a time when we knew of nothing but helicopter punts and sky balls, you gave us silky skills, leadership, and pride in the jumper.
I still don't know if you are a left or right footer! And I always admired the way you went about your footy even when you played with the dogs. All the best in retirement Leon and may the RFC see fit to make you our next skills coach.

Congratulations on a great career and for showing that the Richmond jumper means alot to some players.

All the best in retirement. And heres hoping you taste the ultimate success as a coach in some form.

Thanks for a great career Leon. I have always been messorised by both the accuracy, penetration as well as the fluency of kick you have always been able to deliver on either foot. I can remember in one game earlier on in the year, where you kicked a goal from 50m's out, running to the right of goal along the 50m arc. An opposition player was on your left side, so that's the reason why you were running to the right and had to kick on the right. Then not long after, you kicked a similar goal, but this time on the left foot.

Thanks for the memories, and I wish you all the best in your retirement.
