Kangaroo Karaoke

Ohhhhh....ToO.... Blur Song 2. :clap :clap That song always get's me right.....there! :hihi Great going there too Blue Light Disco. :clap :clap

Don't know about the rest of Oz, but the Strolling Bones have well and truly hit Sydney...>:D (4 jumbo jets for the gear alone if you don't mind umpire!!! WhoooooHooooooo!!!!!)

Tight leather pants, black t-shirt, green silk jacket ripped off and thrown to the floor as I pace up and down like an ostrich on speed...... :p

Ah 1,2,3........

If you start me up
If you start me up I'll never stop
If you start me up
If you start me up I'll never stop
I've been running hot
You got me ticking gonna blow my top
If you start me up
If you start me up I'll never stop

You make a grown man cry
Spread out the oil, the gasoline
I walk smooth, ride in a mean, mean machine
Start it up

If you start it up
Kick on the starter give it all you got, you got, you got
I can't compete with the riders in the other heats
If you rough it up
If you like it you can slide it up, slide it up

Don't make a grown man cry
My eyes dilate, my lips go green
My hands are greasy
She's a mean, mean machine
Start it up

If start me up
Give it all you got
You got to never, never, never stop
Never, never
Slide it up

You make a grown man cry
Ride like the wind at double speed
I'll take you places that you've never, never seen
Start it up
Love the day when we will never stop, never stop
Never stop, never stop
Tough me up
Never stop, never stop, never stop

You, you, you make a grown man cry
You, you make a dead man come
You, you make a dead man come

Aah Crystal...I was waiting for someone to revive this thread. :clap :clap :clap

Got freebies to Mick and the boys last time they toured Oz a couple of years ago. It was $300 a ticket for the good seats we had then, I wonder what they're asking now to see a 60 odd year old do the funky chicken? :hihi

Lets continue then with a little Strolling Bones....one of my faves.

Sympathy for the Devil

Please allow me to introduce myself
I’m a man of wealth and taste
I’ve been around for a long, long year
Stole many a man’s soul and faith
And I was ’round when jesus christ
Had his moment of doubt and pain
Made damn sure that pilate
Washed his hands and sealed his fate
Pleased to meet you
Hope you guess my name
But what’s puzzling you
Is the nature of my game
I stuck around st. petersburg
When I saw it was a time for a change
Killed the czar and his ministers
Anastasia screamed in vain
I rode a tank
Held a general’s rank
When the blitzkrieg raged
And the bodies stank
Pleased to meet you
Hope you guess my name, oh yeah
Ah, what’s puzzling you
Is the nature of my game, oh yeah
I watched with glee
While your kings and queens
Fought for ten decades
For the gods they made
I shouted out,
Who killed the kennedys?
When after all
It was you and me
Let me please introduce myself
I’m a man of wealth and taste
And I laid traps for troubadours
Who get killed before they reached bombay
Pleased to meet you
Hope you guessed my name, oh yeah
But what’s puzzling you
Is the nature of my game, oh yeah, get down, baby
Pleased to meet you
Hope you guessed my name, oh yeah
But what’s confusing you
Is just the nature of my game
Just as every cop is a criminal
And all the sinners saints
As heads is tails
Just call me lucifer
’cause I’m in need of some restraint
So if you meet me
Have some courtesy
Have some sympathy, and some taste
Use all your well-learned politesse
Or I’ll lay your soul to waste, um yeah
Pleased to meet you
Hope you guessed my name, um yeah
But what’s puzzling you
Is the nature of my game, um mean it, get down
Woo, who
Oh yeah, get on down
Oh yeah
Oh yeah!
Tell me baby, what’s my name
Tell me honey, can ya guess my name
Tell me baby, what’s my name
I tell you one time, you’re to blame
Ooo, who
Ooo, who
Ooo, who
Ooo, who, who
Ooo, who, who
Ooo, who, who
Ooo, who, who
Oh, yeah
What’s me name
Tell me, baby, what’s my name
Tell me, sweetie, what’s my name
Ooo, who, who
Ooo, who, who
Ooo, who, who
Ooo, who, who
Ooo, who, who
Ooo, who, who
Ooo, who, who
Oh, yeah

If I could stick my pen in my heart
And spill it all over the stage
Would it satisfy ya, would it slide on by ya
Would you think the boy is strange? Ain't he strange?

If I could win ya, if I could sing ya
A love song so divine
Would it be enough for your cheating heart
If I broke down and cried? If I cried?

I said I know it's only rock 'n roll but I like it
I know it's only rock 'n roll but I like it, like it, yes, I do
Oh, well, I like it, I like it, I like it
I said can't you see that this old boy has been a lonely?

If I could stick a knife in my heart
Suicide right on stage
Would it be enough for your teenage lust
Would it help to ease the pain? Ease your brain?

If I could dig down deep in my heart
Feelings would flood on the page
Would it satisfy ya, would it slide on by ya
Would ya think the boy's insane? He's insane

I said I know it's only rock 'n roll but I like it
I said I know it's only rock'n roll but I like it, like it, yes, I do
Oh, well, I like it, I like it, I like it
I said can't you see that this old boy has been a lonely?

And do ya think that you're the only girl around?
I bet you think that you're the only woman in town

I said I know it's only rock 'n roll but I like it
I said I know it's only rock 'n roll but I like it
I said I know it's only rock 'n roll but I like it, like it, yes, I do
Oh, well, I like it, I like it. I like it...

I will be in Sydney tomorrow to see the strolling bones!  :banana

$400 bucks!!! Geez it's not like a fine wine that they just get better with age.
Aah what a life hey? Touring the globe making squillions on the back of your best work from 30 years ago.

As Mick would say "We've got it sorted".

Enjoy Crystal & Ghost! :D

Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds - The Weeping Song

Go son, go down to the water
And see the women weeping there
Then go up into the mountains
The men, they are weeping too.
Father, why are all the women weeping?
They all are weeping for their men
Then why are all the men there weeping?
They are weeping back at them.

This is a weeping song
A song in which to weep
While all the men and women sleep.
This is a weeping song
But I won't be weeping long.

Father why are all the children weeping?
They are merely crying son.
O, are they merely crying father?
Yes, true weeping is yet to come.

This is a weeping song
A song in which to weep
While all the little children sleep.
This is a weeping song
But I won't be weeping long.

O father tell me are you weeping?
Your face seems wet to touch.
O then I'm so sorry father
I never thought I hurt you so much.

This is a weeping song
A song in which to weep
While we rock ourselves to sleep.
This is a weeping song
But I won't be weeping long
No. I won't be weeping long

Nice one Gyps :clap (btw I crack up every time I read your signature!! LOL!! :hihi)

World in Motion - New Order

Express yourself
Create the space
You know you can win
Don’t give up the chase

Beat the man
Take him on
You never give up
Its one on one

Express yourself
Its one on one
Express yourself
Its one on one
Express yourself
You can’t be wrong
When somethings good
Its never gone

Loves got the world in motion
And I know what we can do
Loves got the world in motion
And I can’t believe it’s true

Now is the time
Let everyone see
You never give up
Thats how it should be
Don’t get caught
Make your own play
Express yourself
Don’t give it away

Express yourself
Its one on one
Express yourself
Its one on one
Express yourself
You can’t be wrong
When somethings good
Its never wrong

Loves got the world in motion
And I know what we can do
Loves got the world in motion
And I can’t believe it’s true

Loves got the world in motion
And I know what we can do
Loves got the world in motion
And I can’t believe it’s true

You’ve got to hold and give
But do it at the right time
You can be slow or fast
But you must get to the line
They’ll always hit you and hurt you
Defend and attack
Theres only one way to beat them
Get round the back
Catch me if you can
Cos’ I’m the england man
And what you’re looking at
Is the master plan
We ain’t no hooligans
This ain’t a football song
Three lions on my chest
I know we can’t go wrong

We’re playing for england {in-ger-land}
We’re playing the song
We’re singing for england {in-ger-land}
Arrivederci it’s one one one

We’re playing for england {in-ger-land}
We’re playing the song
We’re singing for england {in-ger-land}
Arrivederci it’s one one one

We’re playing for england {in-ger-land}
We’re playing the song
We’re singing for england {in-ger-land}
Arrivederci it’s one one one

We’re playing for england {in-ger-land}
We’re playing the song
We’re singing for england {in-ger-land}
Arrivederci it’s one one one

I wanted to include the name of the musical trilogy he was referring to but I decided it was a tad inappropriate. :rofl

Always on a winner with N.O. Crystal. :clap :clap :clap

Nice work from Nick Cave too Gypsy Jazz.

Time for a little Billy Corgan & co. in their prime

Bullet With Butterfly Wings
Smashing Pumpkins

the world is a vampire, sent to drain
secret destroyers, hold you up to the flames
and what do I get, for my pain
betrayed desires, and a piece of the game
even though I know-I suppose I'll show
all my cool and cold-like im told

despite all my rage I am still just a rat in a cage
despite all my rage I am still just a rat in a cage
someone will say what is lost can never be saved
despite all my rage I am still just a rat in a cage

now I'm naked, nothing but an animal
but can you fake it, for just one more show
and what do you want, I want change
and what have you got
when you feel the same
even though I know-I suppose I'll show
all my cool and cold-like im told

despite all my rage I am still just a rat in a cage
despite all my rage I am still just a rat in a cage
someone will say what is lost can never be saved
despite all my rage I am still just a rat in a cage

tell me I'm the only one
tell me there's no other one
jesus was an only son yeah
tell me I'm the chosen one
jesus was an only son for you

despite all my rage I am still just a rat in a cage
despite all my rage I am still just a rat in a cage
someone will say what is lost can never be saved
despite all my rage I am still just a rat in a cage

despite all my rage I am still just a rat in a
despite all my rage I am still just a rat in a
despite all my rage I am still just a rat in a cage

tell me I'm the only one
tell me there's no other one
jesus was an only son for you

and I still believe that I cannot be saved
and I still believe that I cannot be saved
and I still believe that I cannot be saved
and I still believe that I cannot be saved

>:D

and another

Disarm Smashing Pumpkins

Disarm you with a smile
And cut you like you want me to
Cut that little child
Inside of me and such a part of you
Ooh, the years burn
Ooh, the years burn

I used to be a little boy
So old in my shoes
And what I choose is my choice
What's a boy supposed to do?
A killer in me is a killer in you
My love
I send this smile over to you

Disarm you with a smile
And leave you like they left me here
To wither in denial
The bitterness of one who's left alone
Ooh, the years burn
Ooh, the years burn, burn, burn

I used to be a little boy
So old in my shoes
And what I choose is my voice
What's a boy supposed to do?
A killer in me is a killer in you
My love
I send this smile over to you

A killer in me is a killer in you
Send this smile over to you
A killer in me is a killer in you
Send this smile over to you
A killer in me is a killer in you
Send this smile over to you

:)

Just watched Cream live at the Royal Albert Hall....... :clap Geez those guys are truly amazing musios.

Ah 1, 2, 3....

In the white room with black curtains near the station.
Blackroof country, no gold pavements, tired starlings.
Silver horses ran down moonbeams in your dark eyes.
Dawnlight smiles on you leaving, my contentment.

I’ll wait in this place where the sun never shines;
Wait in this place where the shadows run from themselves.

You said no strings could secure you at the station.
Platform ticket, restless diesels, goodbye windows.
I walked into such a sad time at the station.
As I walked out, felt my own need just beginning.

I’ll wait in the queue when the trains come back;
Lie with you where the shadows run from themselves.

At the party she was kindness in the hard crowd.
Consolation for the old wound now forgotten.
Yellow tigers crouched in jungles in her dark eyes.
She’s just dressing, goodbye windows, tired starlings.

I’ll sleep in this place with the lonely crowd;
Lie in the dark where the shadows run from themselves.

Hey all! been a while since I've been a regular in the karaoke room...

might be a little rusty but bear with me! 8)

BEN HARPER - Morning Yearning

A finger's touch upon my lips
It's a morning yearning
Pull the courtains shut, try to keep it dark
But the sun is burning

The world awakens on the run
And will soon be yearning
With hopes of beter days to come
It's a morning yearning

Another day, another chance to get it right
Must i still be learning
Baby crying kept us up all night
With her morning yearning

Like a summer rose, i'm a victim of the fall
But i'm soon returning
Your love' s the warmest place the sun ever shines
My morning yearning

Hey how was the Stones concert?

The Stones were great ToO!! Mick has boundless energy and just strutted his stuff like he always does from one end of the stage to the other. He was the highlight IMO!! Keith was hilarious!! Had a smoke hanging from the corner of his mouth the entire gig!! Must have had someone out back with a lit one just replace the butt between songs! LOL!! They really were fantastic (which makes me think they had a sensational backing track!!). Only downside was that they didn't do Gimme Shelter (my all time fave), but made up for it by doing Angie which just blew the stadium apart (and bought a tear to the eye of every chick in room!!). Just beautiful. A great night, but not as good as their 40 Licks tour IMO, so rest in the comfort that you've seen the best to date!! ;)

Looks like the regulars have all dropped by for a refreshing refreshment. It's nice to be home. ;D

I've sung some sad songs but this one ain't sad. It's tragic. Won't be on its own around here. ;D

Waiting For Superman - (studio) by Flaming Lips 1999

I asked you a question
I didn t need you to reply
Is it getting heavy?
But they realize

Is it getting heavy?
Well I thought it was already
as heavy as can be

Is it overwhelming
to use a crane to crush a fly?
It s a good time for Superman
to lift the sun into the sky

Cause it s getting heavy
Well I thought it was already as heavy as can be

Tell everybody waiting for Superman
That they should hold on as best they can
He hasn t dropped them, forgot them, or anything
It s just too heavy for Superman to lift

Cause it s getting heavy
Well I thought it was already
as heavy as can be

Tell everybody waiting for Superman
That they should hold on as best they can
He hasn t dropped them, forgot them, or anything
It s just too heavy for Superman to lift

:heartbreak

I don't normally go to places like this in the morning. What a surprising yearning.

:clap :clap Welcome back Jack, nice to see you on stage again!

Excuse me while I down a few tequilla shots after that tragic performance. :'( :hihi :hihi
