Josh Caddy

Gotta play him in the right position for his skill set and smarts ... and that, in my opinion, is up forward.

Needs to compensate for his lack of pace with footy smarts. The very fact he is in the conversation is a testament to the fact he is a very good player. Far prefer him forward but fitting him in is the issue. I would like to see CJ, Lynch and Riewoldt in the forward line, add in Aarts, Castagna and Rioli and there is little space for him. So, you can put him forward when CJ is rucking but where does he go the rest of the time?

He needs to wear white boots I’m telling yer. Black boots always make a player look slow.

I'd play him instead of Rioli. Should go back to his original role of mainly forward with a turn through the midfield Has to gut run though but better than the wing where repeat burst speed is needed. Suspect it'll be a non issue in 2022 as he'll go elsewhere. Not sure he even knows what his best role is due to the leg speed issue.

He was pretty good. And it’s nice to have someone that every other team knows talks trash 24/7.

But…

Yeah I've stuck fat. Can play, but I still think he'll may be squeezed out if we get all our best back at the same time.

I think this might be true. Someone has to miss.

I like Caddy, especially forward but i thought he was poor last night, lets see how the selectors see things.

Hope they can squeeze Dow is somehow!.

He's a smart footballer but we couldn't play him in the forward line if we've got Lynch, Riewoldt and CCJ as it would be too cumbersome and sides would run the ball out too easily if we had four slow forwards and only two small forwards ( remember Aarts is not quick either).
On the bench or a medical sub once everyone's back.

Tiger Premiership hero and was solid again last night.

But clearly not in best 22 for Leysy, just doesn't cover the ground as well as the guys he's up against.

Very handy emergency that can step in when injuries hit.

Played his role very well with 1 goal, 15 disposals, 8 kicks, 7 handballs, 1 tackle and 5 marks.

Quite impressive by any standard.

Gone.
The game is too fast for him now on the wing.
Has done well because he’s footy smart but we don’t have a spot for him with his lack of pace.
Too short and slow for a forward .

Hope those screaming for his selection have seen enough. Massive liability, simply cannot cover the ground needed. And was poor in the air and fluffed his chance when we needed a goal. He will always be a premiership hero but he’s no longer best 22.

Time to put some games into a young player who has a future at RFC.
Have liked Caddy's contribution but I think the game has passed him by.
