Josh Caddy

It's really interesting to look at Josh Caddy versus Jordan De Goey

I'm not knocking DeGoey, he's a bloody good player but Caddy is kicking as many goals, and gets as much of the ball while playing a completely different role.

DeGoey is the go to man to kick goals, and as much as he earns some, he does get s lot of Joe the Goose goals over the back.

Caddy on the other hand, has a first priority of crashing packs to stop intercept marks to ensure our smalls are in the game. In 2017 at Kardinia park when he was injured in the first 5 minutes, our smalls had their worst game all year.

Despite this team orientated role, he still hits the scoreboard and gets a lot of his own ball, without all the media hype of DeGoey

Much better side with caddy in the team we walk taller and feed off his arrogance

The Tigers seem more potent with Caddy up and about.
Starting to really appreciate his importance to the overall structure and performance of the team.
While he is very damaging up forward he can also play a strong role in bursts through the middle of the ground.

A fit Josh has made the difference to our game. You don't mess with him or give him room or he will hurt the opposition

X2
It's now obvious how much the balance/structure of the team was affected by his absence through injury in the first few rounds.
Dynamic player who is becoming a vital cog in the team.

That's a great observation, F. I really rate DeGoey (although he's but one of the Pies' many, many avenues to goal). Hope it's been pointed out to him behind the scenes. I'm happy for him to go unlauded (and underrated by other teams) - although I imagine the smart watchers don't underrate him, even if the media does.

Very similar not withstanding Caddy being 4 years older.

In terms of output it’s similar between the two, the difference is how they get them. DeGoey is a highlight reel whereas Caddy is more a blue collar footballer

Not alone in having a poor game. Looked slow, missed marks and shots at goal, made to look out of form.

Lack of a pre-season may be starting to catch up.
