I am still trying to figure out what he was talking about every time he used the euphemism of going to the saloon to get drunk and “Go see the varmint.”

He was padded up and next man in when a wicket fell.
Our captain said to him "take your time and just hang around Steve".

2 minutes later the Umpire is about to time him out as he hasn't entered the ground.
Our skipper asks "what are you doing Steve?"
And he says - "just hanging around like you told me".

Been good again tonight.
