Ivan Soldo

Looking forward to Evarn and Noah playing against the Cats....... Balta goes hard at the contest as Soldo drops in the hole and the *smile* caught in between comes off third best.... now, let me think, who do we hope that is?
One day the karma bus will hit!

Thats a great endorsement for Soldo. 3 more years even after a knee reco.

He is clearly highly rated by the coaches.

WOW didn't see that coming , but with Chol & CCJ gone
it shows Ryan & Colina are hopefuls
Ivan has proved himself at level and must have been training well

Well done big fella

Looks like we have reinvested the salary savings on CCJ and Mabs. But if he still isn't ready or either he or Nank go down again, the reserves are the very young Ryan, followed by Balta and Miller. Hardly filling me with vim and confidence.
As for support for the ageing/struggling Jack and Tom show, it's Caddy and Dusty who's badly needed in the midfield too.

Oh well. Great while it lasted.
Thats a very bleak outlook! The club would know best regarding how Soldo is tracking. I doubt he has been re-signed at exorbitant levels so it is most likely a very decent deal for us given it is for 3 years.

No doubt the ruck depth is a bit of an issue for next year though. Fingers crossed that Noldo can share the load for each other.

Yes, bleak it might be because that's how I'm feeling. Losing both Chol (whom I really liked and believe would only improve further after a mere 31 AFL games) and CCJ has really disappointed me re our future planning.
ATM, our FL looks very bleak for 2022 re talls.

Noldo should strike fear into the hearts of the opposition next year. Imagine how much we would have towelled the Cats up by if they’d both played in the 2020 GF.

Great news regarding ivan. He was playing very good footy before twat hawkins took him out. We need ivan to pick up our centre clearances. I hope he can return to his previous level. Nank and ivan are clearly our best ruck combo. They just have to stay on the park. Good luck big fellas.

Yes, but in case you've missed it, the Cats are far from the league leaders any more. They are moribund. I'm just worried that we are headed back to the pack quickly too.

Can see why CCJ wants out.
Geez you've really got the sads about the whole CCJ thing haven't ya? Just a reminder that Soldo was a very late comer to the game and a premiership player at 23 years of age after about 20 games. He would have been a dual premiership player a year later after around 40 games if that arsehat Hawkins didn't wreck his knee. What has CCJ done after 4 years in the system? 9 games no finals no flags. Oh but he did cost us a $100K and get beaten up by a GC bogan outside a kebab shop.

Soldo is a Richmond man; CCJ is far from it.

Anyway I'm rapt the big fella has re-signed. We really missed him this year and he carried the ruck division in 2020 when Nank was injured most of the year and before Shovekins destroyed his knee. Nando is one of our biggest assets and it was sorely missed this year. Just remember the number Nando did on Nic Nat late in 2020; destroyed him.

Well done Ivan and looking forward to having you back next season :clap2

3 years for a big man following a knee reco that also required a couple of clean ups due to small setbacks, I'll be holding my breath that it is the end of his knee concerns.

Id rather crash back into the pack with 3 flags in 4 years as opposed to whats gonna happen to that lot.

U can see what's going to happen. They'll bottom out for 2 years and Salty's brother will give them multiple priority draft picks and massive overs for Free Agency compo.

Gilligan can't see any conflict of interest though - campaigner that he is.

Popular player in the team too I think.
also, maybe they knew how good he can be, maybe he has fully recovered from the injury, Richmond taking no chances so taking additional time out, getting ready for the preseason, will have him ready to fire from round 1.

Fair enough! Chol never fully seized his chances, so the gauntlet has been laid down to young Samson over this summer to bulk up and take his chances next season.
