I was reminded during the week, when looking at the 10 premiership players on our injury list and the two quality players (Duncan and Cameron) on Geelong's, that the Cats are only 2-3 injuries away from suddenly being vulnerable.
If they had to call upon the likes of Fort, Evans, Jenkins, Jarvis, Constable, etc, they would suddenly look thin.
There are a few players Geelong cannot afford to have injured. Hawkins and Stanley probably top the list (Stanley mainly because he allows Blicavs and Ratugolea to play other roles). Injuries to Smith or Tuohy would rob them of run and experience. Stewart sets them up well behind the ball.
Games like tomorrow's can pose problems for teams that have an eye on the big prize. While they can afford to drop the game, we will be fighting hard for the win. While they may choose self-preservation in the clinches, I expect our guys to leave nothing out there.
Teams rarely play Richmond these days and come out unscathed.
It's going to be wet. Lots of contests.
Who wants it more?
