Waiting for Touk Miller and co to sit Greenwood down and lecture him about leaving the Suns like they did with Lynch.

C'mon Touk, can't have a rule for one player and not the other.

Didn't Lynch go and address the playing group after he announced he was leaving? Not surprising they told him to go and do funny things to a wooly bull really.

I'm sure Bellis would have spoken to our playing group after he announced he was leaving and not got told to go and do funny things to a wooly bull.

The Age is reporting North offered him a 3-year deal, trumping his existing (old) contract with the Suns.

Surely this only be viewed as a monumental stuff up from the Suns? What sort of amateur show are they running up there? AFL House will be furious, with some justification.

Just extraordinary!

Exactly - and supposedly at $500k for the first 2 yrs with possibly a lower amount for the third year
Lets face it. Norf have all this money available as a result of the really good players knocking back their offers. They just want to spend it - on anyone really.
So glad there was no serious suggestion that we should have jumped in and snagged him at salaries like that.

I assumed North signed him and Greenwood had no option but to go but just read that Greenwood agreed to Norths 3 year deal. Something very suss about all this.

Apparently Wayne Campbell's was instrumental in the choice of who to delist with intention of re-drafting.

Mind you, not as audacious as Troy Chaplin skipping out on Port to come to us and sending them an email telling them how they could improve on the way out the door. :ROFLMAO:

Yeah dumb move by Chaplin, especially when the email leaked out to the media. Would have given Port heaps of motivation when they played us in the elimination final, and we all know how that went.

Well that muddies the waters on the 'ol delist then relist trick!

2 yrs at 500k each and hits a 3rd year if he plays 5 games in that period.
Sorry guys Hugh Greenwood would be singing today like if he had just won Powerball.
Has North got a salary cap? Not bad for a club that has 42 member's and lives off the scraps of others.

It seems all too convenient that a gun player be delisted then 'unexpectedly' poached.

AFL player ratings had Greenwood as the Suns' second best player. Forget his age—the guy can seriously play. For the same reasons he is a good pick up for North, he was an important player for the Suns.

Two flags.

Firstly, it's standard practice for potential recruits to do a medical. I see that North contacted Greenwood on Saturday and he agreed to sign with them on Sunday. Surely not even North would take a risk like that without a comprehensive medical.

Second, it appears the Suns almost encouraged Greenwood to take up the North offer, notwithstanding the reports they allegedly tabled an improved offer to him on Sunday. Can't help thinking the 'improved offer' is a furphy.

Are the Suns in salary cap trouble? Did the Suns and North do a backroom deal? Has the 'honour' system of delisting and relisting been abused/leveraged by the two clubs?

As for Greenwood, his social postings are a little too self-effacing to be truly credible.

I smell a rat.

That’s it
They have to waste salary cap by paying overs on ordinary players (Polec, Pittard, Greenwood) because the really good players always knock them back.
I feel sorry for the poor kid who’ll end up these as No 1 draft pick in a few weeks time

The long-running GCS joke continues. After the AFL blithely reward them further for their litany of incompetence and failure after receiving enormous financial and playing-list indulgences, totally unjustifiably, with a superfluous extra draft pick (19). So the Suns turn around and show just how foolish and just DUMB the AFL are for the whole world to see. Just in case anyone doubted.

Hilarious.

Gc has been a wonderful club at providing us with players that turn into premiership players.

Good clearance player but a bit limited outside that. Six clearances and eight tackles per game but only 17 disposals - normally half of them by quarter-time. Remember the 2017 GF - was in everything in the first quarter then stopped like he'd been shot.
13p , well down on his season avg , like his teammates
