Home Grown

With gen y kids being as soft as they are these days the go home factor is going to become much much more prevalent re trades and drafting.

If presented with two of the same kids the home kid will likely be given the nod.

The amount of kids swapping and trading to go home is rising the modern generation are softer than their pre decessors.

As a certified Gen Y basher I'd like to agree but its more the fact the kids have options to remain in their home state and clubs there coaxing them back that is the problem.

I've written this before somewhere but Miller ( or was it Jackson?) said that you still draft kids from interstate so that it gives you bargaining power when the Victorian kid playing interstate wants to come home. Not sure if this is a sound theory though!
