Hardwick & Gale - Effect on 2010 membership numbers?

Interesting to reflect that on the back of last year's ninth and expectations of finals plus the craziness of the Cuz summer we have 37,000 members this year. What are people's thoughts on what the combined effects on membership numbers in 2010 of this year's playing results plus the appointments of Benny and Damo? I will be signing up again and believe so will most - predicting 35,000.

I reckon the club would be happy with that. We'll lose the WCE bandwagonners and the fickle supporters who only join up when the team looks like playing finals. I'd put it closer to 33,000.

I think the membership will increase if the fans can see a new professional team really like what March has been doing of late with Gale as CEO Cameron as Football Manager & now Hardwick as coach the set up is so much better & more accountable with Free on the board as the footy man.

10 % decrease in membership i reckon for sure at least 3-4000 less minimum.

Cuzzymania was massive, and many fair weather ferals who got sucked into the hyperbol and carry on will be less inclined to go in so hard this time.

Who knows?? We are just guessing, and at this time of the year that's fine. If I remember correctly, there were quite a few from WA who joined on the back of Cuz signing. They very well may drop off now, but the appointment of Gale and the signing of DH could be a boost, and who the new...if any...support coaches are. Depends how we draft, and pick up in the pre season, etc., etc. Tiger "supporters" like to think positively at the beginning of the season and with a new broom, that should be positives for signing and re-signing.

Then there is the first game of '10. Win that, not like this year, and numbers will increase. Lose it and look out membership.

These are my thoughts for the day.

Given he had a number of one off boost to membership last preseason and have been terrible on field this year there is the possibility for collapse in membership numbers.

I notice though over the last week that a few green shoots of optimism have appeared on Richmond websites, the majority sentiment is still negative, but at least people can start to see enough hope to buy a membership.

Maybe we should offer 4 game "Hardwick" Memberships to Hawks. Essendon and Port fans so they can come and watch their man in action during the qtr huddles

40k no risk, especially if Richo gets through his operation.

He and Cousins will lead the onfield charge next year. Off-field the club is in as good a shape as it has been since 1982.

Once we start playing the way Dimma wants us too, hard and uncompromising, the followers will follow and sign up.

We have a strong hard core that will be there no matter what.
