Well done Jukes. I'd also like to know the breeding.

Hopefully you'll have a good experience with this dog. I've bought/owned quite a few pups and it's a long wait. I have a litter 6 months old atm (some for sale) and time is dragging, which isn't such a bad thing at my age! I have another *smile* (mother of above litter) that I've had for 2.5 years and she still hasn't raced (back trialling today at Healesville after a few problems).

I'd really enjoy seeing PRE get a syndicate together. With the right dog it can be a huge amount of fun.

Dyer'ere, I also used to go to Crannie in the '70's as a kid with the family. Still go there for trialling and sometimes to watch the races. I preferred the Saturday nights to the current Fridays. I miss the crowds and the bookies.

My connection who's family is into breeding & training greyhounds has a current litter but all b!tches....I want a male.
Gonna wait for next litter because stats show male dogs have a significantly better winning
rate than the female dogs.

Can't recall off the top of my head but i'll talk to my co-owner who has a copy of it on paper.
I'll get back to you on that next week.

That sounds like fun flinders. Do you have any idea of the kind of costs involved?

Rosy, I'm waiting for my mate to give me the run down on costs. He handles syndicates but he's on holidays in Vic at the moment:

http://www.wahoo-racing.com/

He earns a fortune from his real job ;) (GM of ChoiceOne in WA) and does the greyhounds as a hobby and I trust him like a brother. His "fee" for running the syndicate is a 1/10th share.

I have a litter of 7.5 month old pups and am willing to donate one if the rest of the syndicate covers my 1/10th share of costs. Breeding is:

Look here

One of the greyhound followers from the site may like to give you an opinion of the breeding.

The total cost for each person to be a member would then probably amount to about $30 per month for a syndicate of 10 over 12 months until it is about ready to race. Costs from then on we would try to do on a "no-cost" 50/50 deal with a trainer.

However, if we want Wahoo Racing to handle it all for us, they ask for all the money up front and then there are no further costs except for major vet costs. This would mean an initial outlay of about $360 each with only any major emergency vet costs to pay. There is enough in the "kitty" to allow for any minor or normal expenses.

I've quickly worked this all out in my head but once Scott gets back from his holiday I'll give you the exact figures and details. Now, I must warn you he's a Carlton supporter... :hihi
