Goodbye Mabior Chol

I've was calling him Mabior Stroll last night.

Such a frustrating player. Talented in many areas but just too casual.

Bring back Nank fast.
I dont know if he is casual. I think he just isnt very good. At least he held onto the marks in the last, when there was noone within 10cm heightwise in the pack.
My take on Chol is he is athletic, a ok to good kick, not overly strong, not overly (football) smart, and not particular skilled with hand.

In terms of effectiveness, he is pretty typical of a 3rd string ruck around the league.
we may try to keep him next year, or he may go and I dont think the RFC will be stronger or weaker either way.

If we have Nank and Soldo and investing in Samson then he can go.

Even if we don't keep CCJ, he can go.

Sorry Mabs. Sayonara.

Good last quarter. Awful before that.
I wonder if anyone praising him was at the game as his lack of effort and urgency was horrible. Walks to all contests and can be standing stationary 5m from the play watching and not getting involved...its really glaring live.

He's a good mark if only he keeps his eye on the ball and attacks it like he did in the last. We need to put some blinkers on him.

Not the answer for us. We need a whole hearted ruckman who gives everything he has, not a front runner.

Played well last night.
The way I see it TBR is if he was a 20 year old , I’d be “ kid showed a bit in the last “ however his 24 , 6 years in the system and he took a couple of grabs on the wing playing behind the ball, over a couple of midgets .

100% done for me , play him if we need too, however don’t go making any planning around him going forward . As pointed out we can’t trade him , however I’d simply delist , I want the half arsed effort types out , crucial period now

Only played 24 games though MrB, so he is only training wheel status. This is the time a big guy would be ready to kick but in a normal world he'd have 75 plus games under his belt. It's hard to be a big guy when your early years on the list are premiership years with no easy games available.
Valid points , however as Punt rd has proven over the years , if the big blokes don’t have “it” move them on

Not too good on TV even from a few thousand km away!

Mabior had easily his best AFL game. Because his opponent was a VAFA player. And barely a ruck at that level.

That said he levellled up. Now below average AFL ruck. 24yo and improving.

Who is worse - Mabior Chol or Peter Wright? One of those blokes is earning.

I think this a harsh assessment of a 3rd string ruckman/forward. I see improvement in general. He was Vickery-like before his demotion. Refused to take any body contact in ruck or in marking contests. Liked his football hermetically sealed and Harpic Fresh. Often displayed no effort. Now goes at it in the ruck. Tried his best against Nic-Nat and took his lumps. No mean feat that. Took his marks in contests. These are all improvements. The bigger, stronger natural forward in CCJ couldn't get near the footy. Got monstered in the ruck. I still think Marbs is to be persisted with. Some blokes take longer. If there was no improvement I might agree with you.

He's not supposed to be the answer. He's supposed to be the pinch hitter. He's being asked to fill the boots of Soldo and Nank. That's a huge ask and not what he was recruited for.
