Rory's drive on 18 carried 349 yards, the average carry distance on the PGA tour is 281 yards, wow!!
This is why I think the golf ball roll back is a hugely flawed concept, it's going to make being a long hitter a huge advantage.
I reckon clubs, and club speed has a lot more to do with distance.
I hit every club 25 metres further than I did 25 years ago, and I don't use top range balls.

I think it’s a combo of all , ball, club , conditioning, generally better techniques. I’m still about the same length ( golf wise) as I was in my “prime” and I’d be at least 10ks + an hour slower in swing speed
