General Trade Discussion 2022

Cats fans really are a special breed. Going on about Henry, Bruhn and Bowes (deal done). Who basically couldn't get a game for their respective clubs.

Tigers once Hopper is official, we would've smashed this trade period (A+) bringing in two-star mids in Taranto and Hopper.

If 17 clubs had to pick either group of players which one would they gravitate to, Taranto/Hopper or Bruhn/Henry/Bowes it isn't a trick question well maybe for deluded cats fans who are drinking to much of their own bath water.

Seriously, do any of those 3 play in 2023? how much better will they make them moving forward, all speculation.

Taranto and Hopper fix up a need, our midfield will now rank as one of the best in the league and put us into the premiership mix in 2023 and beyond.
Agree, not sure why the media are slapping themselves over Geelong.
all 3 players they are bringing In look 50-50 1st rounders.
Brunh wasn't even getting a game at GWS, Bowes played 5 games this year and Henry disappeared after the bye.
Geelong better hope pick 7 is an ok kid otherwise they have picked a very expensive reserves player.

Are Geelong allowed to trade there 1st round pick this year?
The rules are you can't trade away 3 1st rounders in row.
They used 2 on Jizza

I think its 2 or 3 over 4 years isn't it for what they need to take?

They took
Clark in 2018
Stephens and De Koning in 2019
Holmes in 2021
No Rd 1 in 2022

So I think they are ok this year, and maybe ok with the next year too, but they won't be able to trade it away in 2024.

Theyll probably go for one of the highly rated Key Forwards to replace Shovekins.

They are hurting Hopper said *smile* off to them and from the outside the deal they did today slaps in the face of what they have been preaching all year 'play for less to play at Geelong'
They have brought in Bowes who is owed 1.7mil.
That's unbelievable. He couldn't get a game for GC. That's equivalent to us paying Dunstan 1.7 mil to play at Punt Rd on the weekends and the supporters trusting Clarke to pick a gem at 7.
No fken chance
What happens if pick 7 is a Conca or Vickery?
Wells strike rate lately has been on Greg Beck levels.

Gold coast are amazing. Aside from Bowes contract issue they say he is not good enough to break into the team yet recruit the unknown Berry and the unfortunately known Long.

Berry is a good tackler and he's....................................um..................................................got a brother who can actually play, so maybe, just maybe they get the family together in 2026. Gold Coast are visionaries.

Geelong are just brining in depth. The Bowes deal is purely for the pick........they'll spread his cash, throw in a ripper house and land package, and the young man will enjoy playing in the VFL!

People are still yet to realise how good Samson can be. For me he is the one who could replace Jack in 12 months time. He can play forward and ruck. For me the biggest hidden gem on our list.

Untouchable.
There was an article in the Hun, Mon or Tues regarding Lobby Loyde n why the Frockers were refusing to trade him. 206 cm key forward who could also ruck competently n even though the Frockers have Darcy as their first ruck with Jackson coming in who can play forward ruck as well yet the Frockers still playing hard ball over Lobby wanting to play at the Woofers. Very very valuable type of player if you can find a good one.

Freo have lost the plot. Giving away good players for nothing but refusing to budge on Lobb.

Besides us GC are the only other club that dosent screw and bend over clubs when it comes to trading
I almost drove off the road lyold 'Geelong are great to deal with' ask Fremantle over Ckark? Ask WC over Kelly?

They’ll lose depth soon. Always happens to the Premiers. The other clubs come for their depth.
