GCS Already Taking An Axe To There List

Nathan Ablett, Michael Coad, Marc Lock, and Jack Stanlake along with rookie listed players Roland Ah Chee, Jake Crawford, Jack Stanley and Joel Tippett were informed of the clubs decision this morning.

Any love for anyone on that list?
Nearly all of these were predictable.

The only surprise was Roland Ah Chee, he had talent.

Certainly, GC17 had a better version of Ah Chee in Bennell.

Maybe Ah Chee had other problems. Still worth investigating.

Seems he decided he cared enough about football a little too late :p

Its amazing the number of players that are involved in football for most of their lives such as coaching around the country and yet when thier opportunity for stardom was at their fingertips they were not dedicated.

Yep, I agree with this observation. The club scene is littered with these guys.
I think a lot has to do with their mental capacity to handle the pressure that is associated with elite sport.

Yep, when mental pressure and apathy collide, talent comes off second best.

I thought Houghton looked OK as a junior. Wonder if he'll get a lifeline somewhere.

Loved Houghtons highlight reel in 09', might be worth a punt.

Coad unluckly for Gold Coast. Very very good player who jsut couldnt take a trick with injuries. Too old for us to consider just feel sorry for the bloke.

I wonder how much of Nablett's salary was tied-in to Gazza's?

I wouldn't mind Roland the Headless Thompson Gunner, but only because I like his name.

Nah, he's just and excitable boy

Good on Freo. Wish we didn't *smile* around for another month which we seem to do every year.

Why? There is zero advantage to be gained by naming them early. You're just someone who wants to open their Christmas presents in November.

Ditto - good bloke too.

Not at all. It is unfair on the players to wait so long to delist them. Better for them to know their future now so they and their manager can do something about it.

I'd wager that they know.

The Dockers have also announced some de-listings yesterday.

If the Dockers can delist five and three of their rookie list, there is no reason why we cannot do the same.
