GAME DAY THREAD - TIGES V POWER

From where I was sitting at the ground it looked like the throwing motion. But I was in the nosebleeds
It was definitely called deliberate. They do the tenpin bowling motion to indicate deliberate.

These 11 goal each snore fests are ruining the game. Need more 20 goals to 10 games for commentators to cream themselves over.
Yeh, Dimma was pointed in saying this is the style of footy he enjoys. And I think most fans.

There's clearly an AFL directed messaging agenda on the new rules. No media organisation dares criticise them.

We lost this at the selection table. Had Rioli and caddy played instead of the newbies then we would have won. Reckon Dimma and the MC thought we were no chance when selecting the team and thought no harm by giving 2 kids a go.
Fair call but even with the newbies when you lose by 2 points, shows we were good enough to still win it. What stands out for me more than anything was we gave them 3 gifted goals from our senior players. Broad, Nank and Balta. Umps also gave them 5, that's 8 goals out of their 11.

Also, it didn't help that we had vlastuin, prestia and macca out.

You tell us shithead. Your team gets 6 of those a game - how does it feel to win by cheating most games you *smile*
Nothing like a mature response...well thought out. Class act

One of the games Legends told me when the AFL came into being in 1990 that the AFL would be "the beginning of the end of this game as we know it"

He was right.

Every decision being made about the game is about COMMERCIAL INTEREST. The AFL and Clubs are commercial entities.

The AFL are following the global model of sport, that was established in the US.

This is now becoming VERY apparent to those who grew up with the game in the 60's,70's,80's and early 90's, which is a huge swathe of the most Club's membership base.

Pissed off pundits will switch off, its already happening in the US.
Good post.
The AFL would prefer us to mainly be a financial success off the field, as we are effectively a 'blue chip' club in their eyes.
They gain nothing by letting our club continue winning Premierships and being a dynasty.

In contrast, their agenda is all about promoting their interstate franchises.

Apart from West Coast and the Crows, the rest of the interstate clubs have a tenuous existence, where one or two bad years can spell disaster for them and the AFL INDUSTRY!
Hence why we get blatantly corrupt officiating and selective fixturing, amongst other things. There has to be an underlying agenda surely.

I've thoroughly enjoyed the past 4 years and I will always support the Tigers financially. But I can see myself switching off if the game deteriorates further at the hands of this current mafia.

I’m not saying it’s guaranteed we will make finals, that’s just being arrogant but before people start writing us off consider the following:
- in 2017 we were 7-4 after our first 11 games then 8-3 in our second half of the season, not including finals
- in 2018 we were 9-2 then another 9-2
- in 2019 we were 7-4 then 9-2
- in 2020 we were 5-1-3 then finished with 7-1
Our first parts of the season the past few years, we do lose more games than we do in the second half. I wouldn’t be panicking just yet
Two debutants, Houli back from injury and not settled, Nankervis looks to be carrying a bit of an injury. Certainly not time to panic

Lots to like about the performance last night.

Houli looked Good first up, plenty of premiership players to come in, concern is that I am not sure if Ross is going to make it, The other 2 aren’t ready, keen to see Ralphsmith and RKD debut, MJR of course, next few weeks could see someone new unearthed , exciting .

$4,000 in fines for playing in a Richmond jumper. That’s his pay for the year. You know, this is so rigged this comp. The campaigners keep on campaigning.

F*** me, it was a tough game and we get 3 fines? Not enough to have the umpires ream us the MRP has to continue the bias.

The Ross incident was fair enough, I think he was unaware of how Duursma was so wide open and not ready for a bump, you could see it at the time.

No idea what Mansell did to get fined although the argument above "Rocked up in a Richmond jumper" sounds convincing.

I have to say, if the AFL are trying to convince Richmond not to play hard tough football, they are not succeeding and should give up now. Given the way they treat us, their biggest cash cow, I reckon the club would be telling them where to go.
