Worst performance since 2018 Prelim. Massive issue with ruck & others not up to it. Chol never to play again, Pickett deplorable & Aarts not ready for finals. Lynch, Caddy & Broad back in. Balta to ruck. Need to find a bigger ruckman in off season. Nank a toiler but gets beaten by taller opponents. Soldo has been the massive loss.

Gotta give credit to Lions. I thought we were on the verge of breaking them in the second quarter and they held tough. I still think we would have won bar the ill discipline in the first half. that Neale goal was ridiculous . We are pressing inside out 50 and all of a sudden they get a shot at goal. Not acceptable for a professional side even if the initial free looked tough.

Caddy in for Pickett for me. He's a much better ball user and Pickett burnt the forwards several times.

His defensive work in the 1st quarter was very good, but his kicking is rough as guts. Much prefer Caddy on the wing.

Well, we mostly played like crap, Lions have played in Brisbane all year and we didn't lose by much considering the umpiring.

Lynch will be back as a massive in, reckon we will play the Dogs next week.
Would love to beat Port at their home ground in a preliminary before smashing Brisbane in the granny.

Yes, go back to 2015 when hawks lost to West coast week 1 of finals...then beat the minor premier at their home ground in the prelim (Freo in WA) then came back to beat West coast in the GF...it can be done.

Have to hang our hat on this hope now.

All we learned tonighr is Jack cant lead a forward line as a #1 marking option anymore & Chol is not close ro finals maturity. Outside of that, the Lions played their game perfectly & we struggled to get our game going. We had not much go right while they had nothing go wrong. 18-11 frees & 4-1 50s. They had a dream run & we never gave up. They literally beat us for 4 minutes @ the end of the half.

If we get them in the GF we beat 'em

No-one to blame but ourselves.

Very winnable game and missed opportunities and ill discipline has cost us.

I fear we will look back on this game in time as being on the same level as the 2018 preliminary in costing us a shot at a premiership.

The umpires were whistle happy in that first half.

But we were sucked in by the Lions in the second quarter. Those 50m penalties are game killers. Especially in shortened quarters and close games.

That last 5-10 minutes of the second quarter cost us the game.

The reason we do not get many HTB decisions is that there is a different interpretation for the Richmond tackler.

I want that questioned. I saw 4 that were clear incorrect disposals not given. 3 were in our F50. Why don’t we get them?
