sometimes yes, sometimes no apparently. From the shot we saw, it didn't look like it hit the post at worst, you couldn't tell at best. You'd think they'd want to make it clear for the viewer? Or is that expecting too much?
And normally they make a quick decision if its clear, that was clear as mud.
I'm assuming they didn't use snicko because two players collided with the post at the same time the ball would have if it had hit.
It was a mini debacle.
And he got nothing! Nank and Soldo would get front position and a lot of the times that’s what happened.
Why are ruckman not paid those. Oh they are if you are not wearing a Richmond jumper.
Port should be fined by the AFL too. Sending two players back on without the concussion test after that collision is not on.
It all depends on if the broadcaster chooses to show the replay from that angle. You often see an arc decision and then later in the broadcast shows a different angle where you can see the basis for it.
I don't know the technicals of it but the arc comes from the same feed as the one for concussion checks. You have a monitor and you can go to a different camera feed and go forward and back as and when you like. If you go through the broadcast feed I assume you have to talk to the director to get what you want like you hear the third umpire do in cricket.
The footy way is much quicker but much too messy for broadcast.
It's so easy to pick because it's something only non ruckman do. No excuse to not pay the frees.

But lets be honest with ourselves in relation to Shai, it is what it is and when it comes to players who bring a uniqueness to any game and he's skills and flashiness to me fall into that category. Some weeks he will have you tearing your hair out and jaw on the floor for all the bad reasons, the next minute you are on your feet, fist clenched lauding a piece of magic only a few are capable of.
Still a gamewinner when on, so gets plenty of credits in my book, just have to take the good with the bad.
