hope being back at our home ground away from home sparks something in the players they've been lacking this year

we've played like *smile* at the G all year

If we win tonight I vote permanent Qld hub from tonight onwards for the rest of 2021. Send up all the moon boot players late August and away we go :p

Will be happy if we can keep margin to under 30 points..
Too many players of questionable talent and skill in the side..

Also, one of the most trends disturbing in recent losses is really poor disposal and we cannot play out Q4 any more. We've been over-run starting from WCE game. Confidence really down along with fitness/endurance after curtailed pre-seasons due to our successful finals campaigns.

Raining in Brisbane at the moment. But meant to be clear by game time. Either way it will be damp at Metricon - its just whether the dampness comes from rain or dew!

I've been looking for an explanation behind the logic of sending this game to Metricon, too. When you consider that both teams were already in Melbourne and both teams are due to play again in Melbourne next week., I just can't see the logic in moving this weeks game. Can anyway connect the dots for me?
I cannot figure it out either. Surely we could have played at the G tonight with no crowd? Lions already here and the infected area presumably deep-cleaned, closed with no public access anyway. So what was the problem? Media need to access?
Next thought - had to move to get BLs out due to 5 day lockdown; otherwise could get 'stuck' here. But as you point out, 'both teams are due to play again in Melbourne next week'. Assuming you are correct because I haven't bothered to check BLs draw. Looks very likely though that their next opponent will have to fly north too? What if lockdown not extended past Tues. night however?

But then, Dees V Dorks at G tomorrow? Ah! But both home teams as in local. Same with Colonwood v Cartoon game allowed at G on sunday. Yer, they don't miss out on playing at G either!

But ours and Bummers v Norf games (originally planned for Sunday evening at Marvel I think) moved to MS?

I really don't get it.

Wonder whether we were presented with the option? Empty G or 15,000 at Metricon for Jack's 300th....maybe we wanted him in front of a crowd?

It's as good an explanation as any, along with our good record there. That's if the AFL actually gave us much choice.
From memory, listening to Benny Gale's 3AW interview on the RFC site early this morning, he just referred to having to follow the public health advice.

Hope we had the major say though. That's the 2nd game at the G ripped off us this year (after Crows shifted too). Must be killing the club's revenue (along with associated lockdowns) which AFL won't mind at all, I'd say.

It's us

Having a ruckman in for the first time in 6 weeks makes us a 50% better side.

And because it's Nank, make that 80%.

We look so much better on paper than last week. Brisbane also better than the pies though.

I'm tipping us for the first time in more than a month.

We showed glimpses last week against the pies - tigers spluttering and still showing a pulse.

My concern is that we won’t stay with them in the last qtr like 3 of our last 4 games where we led at 3/4 time.

Agree the team looks stronger but I wish I could be as confident as others on here - the lions love to beat us now.
