Friday night lights at the G , game day v the Saints

I

I'd say many didn't turn up as well. We all know Ticketek don't release all bays at once so not a f-up per se. Not sure who's directive that is, Ticketek or AFL or even MCC . I agree it's wrong.
Maybe not a *smile* up as such but with a very limited number of tickets available, much less than usual, maybe a lot of people would have assumed that once they saw that the no tickets available message pop up originally, they thought that it was sold out and didn’t bother trying again later. I really wish the afl would grow a set and tell ticketek to stop doing that. Or if it’s an afl directive, for them to do the right thing by the fans……:rotfl2:rotfl2:rotfl2:rotfl2:rotfl2
I’m sorry, stupid thing to say. I must still be in shock from last night

I was sitting back waiting for the team to click into gear and kick a few goals in the 3rd.
Okay, maybe it will happen in the 4Q.
Certainly not the Richmond team I’ve been use to for the last 4 years.

You realise 80c out of every dollar in the game comes from TV rights?
My patronage is all I have to send a message with. Whether I watch or don't watch on TV isn't recorded anywhere.

I spent four figures on merchandise last year without bringing membership into it. Then there's the footy records, books, food at the ground etc.

The AFL had no need to stack the deck, let alone two years in a row. They can go and get *smile*.

caught up with a few Richmond mates this morning.
the majority feel something might have happened pre-game which lost their connection.

we may find out

we may never know.

Im rabbling on a bit i know, but it reminded me of a match in under 18s that i played.
We won the past 2 premierships, were about 3rd on the latter in season 3 and ready to prime in time for finals.
We were to play a team about 8th on the ladder (of 10 teams) the following week ( a couple of weeks out from finals)
A few days prior a team mate slept with another teammates Mrs.
It divided the team. there was angst. divide.

game day comes, we ran out, all in bad moods, we basically didnt really try or want to be there.
We lost by 10 goals.

2 weeks later, Out in straight sets in finals.

Not saying anything such as a player sleeping with another players Mrs happened, but big chance something was up.

It was just funny that game (under 18s) 20 years ago has been in my mind all day, popped up out of no where.

Bloody work with 2 ain’t supporters who didn’t want a bar of a slab bet like the first game…weak as but won’t stop the crowing Monday I’m sure.

Also tap a like if you’ve been sent the 2 for 22 Richie Benaud meme off some smart arse mate (even though it’s quite witty).

Competely agree. In a week when it's announced that once again we're the biggest supported club in the land, they serve up pretty much a "f*ck you" to the supporter group in my opinion.

Seems too suss to me.

The team has lost their desire and didn't do the hard stuff. Pickett and Vlaustin only 2 to give a yelp last night. The season is close to shot!

Shitty night and COVID aftertaste, but you'd think there would be enough people keen for footy's return to Melbourne to snap up a measly 25K tickets.

And now Hocking in his wisdom has killed the golden goose. As ye sow...

First two games of the round averaged 57 points per team (season 81.9). Given the scheduling, Hocking could see most of his hard-earned but questionable scoring gains eaten away this weekend.

Yeah I noticed the scores in both games were low, it sure as hell isn't going to help the average score for 2021 if the scores stay so low.

Now, since Hocking promised more Dusty moments and higher scoring, after failing at his job for a few years any chance he gets moved on?

TBR, I know most of the money comes from TV rights. But, how well will ratings hold up if the die hard fans won't turn up to the games? Once the attendance drops I would think you would see the ratings drop. Then watch the TV revenue go down with it. Australian Rules has historically had very big crowds given our population and it is this which, initially at least, made it such a tempting product for TV. I don't really look at ratings but it would surprise me if they are holding up. COVID has had a huge impact on supporters, the AFL and the complete and utter morons running the ticketing companies need to start making it easy and attractive to go to the footy. I see they got 11,700 to the Collingwood v Fremantle game, and 6,700 in Tassie - the game is in trouble.
