Footy media , love’m or hate’ m ?

Caro is not happy, we have a board of the highest integrity and she doesn't get info fed to her like she did for years and years.

Malcom Speed was talking to Whateley the other week. He mentioned when he was on the board, and the 2016 review. He said when the review was finished and tabled, it didn't get leaked to the media. In years gone by Caro would've been all over it.

That's the sign of a very good board, all working for a common cause with no ego.

Now all Caro can do is speculate, just like us, get over it Caro.

His affair has nothing to do with coaching a football team, nor was it with an employee under his guidance. So any questions raised against him are complete rubbish. You are also clutching at straws that he used his wife as a shield. You are giving Hardwick too much credit here. He isn’t one who comes across as being calculating and premeditated in what he will say. His media conferences are heart on sleeve stuff.

The fact he concealed it from Benny Gale is a black mark. Whether it plays a factor in our results this year, maybe not, but it's bad.

Amazing that Wilson had the gall to criticise Seb Ross's decision to be with his wife who had given birth to twins.
Exactly what I thought at the time since I knew about the reason for her absence (interesting how she got to travel OS and back amidst these Covid restrictions too - $$$ ?).
Seems so hypocritical for a woman who feigns feminist concerns and takes judgmental moral positions. To me, she seems to be a woman and journalist desperate to cling to her diminishing relevance and dubious income from being an AFL hanger-on.

Footy Tabloid types like Caro Wilson, etc.. thrive on adding 2 + 2 and getting 5

anyone with such bad mathematical skills is not worth listening to

It was more than cracking a joke. He used 'Mrs Hardwick' as a shield at times when he wanted to deflect the media, like when he had a crack at the Swans or copped heat for playing Rance on the wing. It was definitely tactical and not something I've heard any other coach ever do. It was his version of Sheedy's aliens or seagulls.

If he chooses to introduce his wife into the public footy conversation, then cheats on her with a younger woman who works in the office at the club he coaches, then he can't complain when it is a story. His conduct would be shaky at best even if he had never mentioned her name in a press conference.
That is one of the longest bows I’ve heard drawn (if you can hear a bow drawn…)

To equate his jocular references to his wife as a reason for being fair game to have their separation continually bought up and offered as a reason for the teams poor form is nonsense. Utter nonsense.

Tania Buckley was much more of a red carpet woman than Danielle Hardwick, where’s the constant speculation on her and Nathan’s separation?

He also didn't have an affair with a much younger Collingwood staffer either.
So can you pre-list the circumstances when a coaches separation can and can’t be dragged up? It’ll just help us all a bit….

She would have got an exemption to travel, like many do. And yes she's got money in order to travel.

Of nearly all the journos, she's the most critical of the AFL and club administrations, so I don't see how she can be considered an "AFL hanger-on" any more than anyone else. Less so, since she regularly criticises the AFL and clubs. Dubious income? Strange argument since she's been reporting and the chief football writer for the Age for many years. If her income is "dubious" then so is that of every other footy journo except Mick Warner.

Completely get that people don't like her or what she writes in the papers or says on TV, but this is bordering on character assassination now.

This is a Richmond fan forum not a Collingwood one. We are bound to see reports heavily weighted towards Richmond. I bet the Collingwood forums are filled with negative stuff about Naff. Or maybe on second thoughts …..it IS Collingwood supporters.
Caro writes sh!te about every club not just ours. By all means take what she writes and says with a grain of salt but she is entitled to her opinions and I love the way she brings another perspective. I don’t always agree with her but I love her endeavour to challenge the often condescending Hutchy and Eddie and Kane.

Anyway, back to the question asked by Mr. B.

Hate 'em. Eunuchs the lot of them.

I'm as big a critic of Caro as anyone but the Hardwick stuff is fair game.

Hardwick put his wife into the football world, he was the one who introduced her into press conferences and used her to deflect and
break the tension when it suited him.

You can't do that and then turn around and say stop talking about my personal life just because it doesn't work for you anymore.
Sorry, whilst I have some level of agreement with what you said above, I'd suggest "Mrs Hardwick" tacitly agreed with the attention as Dimma didn't drop the joke after the first use. I'm not sure his new partner has put her hand up for that attention.
Not so sure Caro is doing a lot for the girl power movement, throwing her under the bus in pursuit of Hardwick.
I have ZERO doubt, that Caro would be holding a grudge at the 3AW ban, and would get personal in retaliation to that.

For me more significant than the relationship itself was Dimma's failure to report it. That meant concealment, which is a bad signal to send to the troops when what you want is honesty within the group.
