Fixturing "Anomalies"

That guy was involved but this guy I heard was Australian. He was a young guy who sounded like he had more of an actuarial background than anything to do with football, and he was the one who had actually devised the detail. Absolute full of himself knob. He was grilled by Cornes and Healy and he had a smart arse answer for everything.

Ffs. Even the WCE game they’ve given us is off a trip to Adelaide. 2 interstates in a row hoping that might cause us to blow it against the worst team in the league. Help WCE out ….nail Richmond again.

Never seen such an appalling first 6 weeks of the season. Ever. They are just beside themselves trying to punish us all the time.

Will say it again. We have massive issues with the AFL. Massive.
Thought the same thing about the Weagles 1st win, especially now that we're depleted. As I posted above, 5 of first 7 games all against top 8. This win against the Ducks went against the grain for the Gestapo.

Well, they FIXtured 2 home games for us against the Saints this year. One of our home games is in south Australia and the other “home” game against them is at Marvel

I fully expect them to be wearing their clash jumper in both games.

Will say it again. We have massive issues with the AFL. Massive.

But we'll just cop it and accept it, because that's what we do as a club. People rightly have a crack at the AFL for bending over the fans, but what do the RFC do for us?

I agree. We just seem so complicit to it all. You don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes, but whatever it is, it ain’t working.

Getting a good early season draw is crucial. everyone knows what the stats say about how much the 8 changes from mid-season onwards.

It’s like being in high school with a teacher that has their favourites and least liked.

We’re like the kid that doesn’t do much wrong, out performs everyone else, just gets on with it …. but can’t get the grades and allowances that other, less deserving but more favoured kids - like Geelong - get.

Geelong are the teachers pet of the AFL.

It’s a rort.

This bloke never looks in his own backyard. Always whinging and sooking. Geelong is the only club in the country to have its own ground and here he is having a sook that Port & Adelaide have an advantage because or gather round.

This is after playing WC at home Richmond away and Melbourne at home

How many home games??

I never would normally agree with anything this Scott twin says but I have to agree with this and it was discussed on 3AW this evening
It gives those 2 clubs an extra home game which is not fair in an already totally unfair fixture
They should play each other
It was said the reason they were not fixtured to play each other last year was to maximise crowds for Gather round
However we know it it was successful so there is no need for that excuse for the next 2 years

So after scheduling us to play a game on the Norwood running track, the anomaly continues with a late Sunday travel to Perth. Yes, someone had to play in Perth this week but you just knew it had to be us.

Back to back interstate games in the blockbuster 4pm timeslot. Then a bye.

What a start to the season eh? Thanks *smile*.

Yep. You would never see the Handbaggers or even Carlton with such a fixture regardless of they are going. We played finals only 2 years ago. Disgrace.

He's not wrong though. they should be playing each other during GR
Why would they play a guaranteed sell out game on a weekend when all tickets sales will be inflated and interest is already a lot higher than usual.
If you really wanted to be fair about it- but this is the AFL fixture we are talking about so not sure why anyone is thinking fair- both Adelaide teams would play a home game another round in Alice Springs/Darwin etc- a neutral venue.

4 games in a row in the Sunday arvo death slot. The AFL has *smile* us without lube. They are *smile*.

Easy to fix. No Showdown during GR.

But Port and Adelaide can play at Norwood Oval against low drawing clubs. They both get extra state based games, but no home games. Other clubs get to play at AO instead of the other venues. Just schedule a couple of decent games and fans will come
