Essendon = Entitlement

Gerard. Please. You need to read PRE more. No criticism of Dudoro here. In fact, there’s universal praise here for the job he’s doing. In fact, quite a few of us want to start and sign a petition to make sure he stays in the job ( for life hopefully). You need to check your facts

:)

I heard Barham defend Dudoro saying that the Dud wasnt the only one involved in recruiting and list managem, there’s a whole team so it’s not just on the Dud. But with that logic they wouldn’t have sacked Rutten, I mean he wasn’t the only coach, there was a whole team of them.
Yeah, that's the whole concept of working in a management and leadership position. You're responsible for a team, and accountability is part and parcel of the role, good or bad...

Does this mean that El Presidente Barham thinks his whole recruiting team are spuds then?

As for the Dodo, it's his job as manager of the recruiting team to set the parameters n standards for his team after consultation with the coaching dept as to their player type requirements. Most recruiting teams would come to an easy consensus as to the best player available to suit there needs with the manager ( Dodo ) having the call if there's disagreement over several player options.
For all the singin n dancin over how good the Dodo is or isn't simple ladder position ( team performance ) over the last 15 to 20 years goes a long way to marking his papers. Funnily enough all the players that were at Essendrugs when they were winning finals and flags were already there before the Dodo arrived. He might have picked up some good players at times over the years, but overall they've shuffled backwards to irrelevant mediocrity during his tenure.
Hoping the dud has another twenty years of list manager at Essendrugs in him.

Spot on. I think his only out is the instability at board and coaching / drug saga makes it a *smile* place to be so good players leave and other good players don’t want to come - just those chasing $$$$.

This is probably how he has manoeuvred to stay there.

As you say long may he reign.

What a stupid argument from healy. People are less critical after a few wins, of course, but the end result is what matter. And the buck doesn't stop with the list boss on list management decisions? He's off his head, or just good mates with dodoro
When Barham was pressed ‘who makes list decisions”, his answer was “ I can’t tell you who does in the end, showed that Dodoro seems “untouchable “.

Duddoro part of the Sheedy clique at the Club. While Sheedy was a great coach he has been a borderline disaster since. Constantly sticking his nose in and having too much influence. As a board member he has been a shocker, speaking out of turn and crying when his love child Jim didn’t get reappointed to the coaching job. Despite all this, he still wields behind the scenes power at the Club.

Sheedy kept destabilizing us in the 90’s with constant rumours popping up he was coming back to us everytime his contract was up for renewal. Now he is involved with the druggies and destabilizing them from behind the scenes. Great to see. He might be a legend at our club but he is one I don’t respect

I think the constant churning he undertook with his teams was designed to keep him in the job for a long time (that obviously worked) but it proved to be at the expense of a few flags I reckon.

Certainly did!
Never had intentions of coming to the RFC.
It was only to up his $ with Essendon then when he got the boot, years later put his hat in the ring to coach us and was overlooked. Hence his involvement with GWS.

Memory might be foggy there**

The longer sheedy is still involved at the club the longer they will be scrapping the bottom of the barrel.
He nothing more than an agitator that loves stirring up trouble.
He loves they haven't won a flag since he was there.

There was a big push from the media to get him to the demons. But Melbourne said no.
They weren’t interested in his mind games.

Pretty sure he considered being invited to coach Smelbourne as well at one stage, got all bent out of shape when he got told he'd have to apply n put in a resume n interview just like everyone else.
Ooops, should have read to the bottom of the page before commenting.

Think he was asked by the Tigers to do the same if my recollection is correct TM?

Nose out of joint there too!

Well that would have been a perfect match to his bad haircut n side part.
Ripping player for the Tiges oh so many years ago, but after that it's been all about Sheeds, Essendrugs, Sheeds, Sheeds, Gee Whizz, Sheeds n Essendrugs.
