Or actually get the job and have to deal with all the back room shenanigans that previous coaches with non essendrugs backgrounds had to endure. Then look for another job in 2 years time

Have just received a fascinating and thought provoking txt from a mate who is normally well on the money with his news. I won’t repeat it here. But I do agree with part which also supports that Hird WILL be bombers coach. It’s been a long time coming to get the Golden Child back to Essendon. Interesting to note him quoted in the paper as saying he “would love the job” blah blah blah….”done lots”…blah blah…”passionate”…..blah blah…”if I get the opportunity it would be amazing, REDEMPTION is a big thing, but for me I just love the Essendon Football Club”…
A far cry from “there are elements of coaching I like, but I would have to discuss it with my family first”. That was prior to him officially applying for the job. He probably just grabbed his CV out and changed the dates from when Worsfold was appointed, Rutten etc.
I’ll only believe he doesn’t get the job when the official announcement is made. Till then he remains raging favourite/shoe in for mine.

Dodoro has survived the bloodletting at the Bombers, with Campbell, Madden & Brasher having all departed. Wouldn't have thought so, but it's looking more than a possibility that Hird might coach them again, because Sheedy and Dodoro are big supporters with plenty of influence.
