Agree Harry but there is next to no chance that Sumner will slide past pick 12.

everyone said the same re atley last year.

True but Sumner can kick.

true. you never know. gws just needs to not like him and brisbane and port prefer someone better and he'll slip.

What's the knock on him, Sleazy Days?

Pace & athleticism for the role he plays. He is a beautiful kick on both sides though.

Scoop's a big fan though & is a good judge so he does have fans.

Its one of those drafts, one mans trash anothers treasure.

i often wonder whether clubs now make the backroom deal, say GWS agree not to pick player A and Richmond take a chance on him sliding past PA and BL to 15 and Richmond somehow have come up with a gentlemans agreement to somehow make this happen..

I reckon there are gents agreements in place. This is how clubs become good trading partners by making things happen in a fair and considerate way.

Depending on how we value Morris and how we plan to use him, do we really need a Heath Shaw type in this draft, i.e Docherty or Adams ?

Not sure I'd want Kersten and O'Hanlon both in this draft, tho it would set us up for forward talls

From Shifter's Top 30 PDF:-

AFL Profile:
Brandon Ellis is a well built defender who reads the play very well. He is a team oriented player, an excellent kick, has clean ball handling skills and makes good decisions with the footy.
Representing Vic Metro at the NAB AFL Under 18 Championships, he had an outstanding game against NSW/ACT, gathering 29 disposals. He averaged 18.2 disposals, at 75.8 per cent effectiveness during the championships. He was rewarded with All-Australian honours
Ellis was a top performer at the NAB AFL Draft Combine, reaching level 15.4 in the beep test. He also recorded 70 centimetres in the standing vertical jump, putting him in top 11 per cent.
X-factor:
“Ability to win the ball back from opposition in defense.”

Ellis' profile hasn't been uploaded to the RFC website yet so it musn't be true.

Interesting exercise.
Given Quayle has a better reputation than most for nailing it with her Phantom's, even she was off more than usual this year. Gives a vague idea but really there's a lot of wasted time on phantom drafts when it only takes one player out to mix up the entire order. Good fun but doesn't really paint any sort of accurate picture. She almost nailed the Tiger selections though. Just one number off on Todd Elton.

To be fair it was near impossible this year with GWS having so many selections your not to know which way around they will take there players.

In other years the first 15 are usually pretty on the money. After that it always gets jumbled.

I just think you are highlighting the unrealistic expectations that footy fans have. Think that Quayle's effort is excellent and near enough to bang on. Blokes moving a few spots is nothing. Been happening for 20 years that people complain that the selections aren't perfect. They never will be, never can be.

EQ may have got the order slightly wrong but the only picks in the top 15 she had at the wrong clubs were Longer and Greene.

Of course. I certainly don't expect them to be bang on. How could they be??
Phantom's are just an educated guess & Emma is better at guessing than most.
Ultimately though they're a fluff piece.
