Damien Hardwick

As a coach, it’s really hard to climb that mountain once, let alone twice.

Both Hardwick and Clarko have done it, Dimma maybe not finished quite yet, both had some young emerging players who have turned out to be absolute stars to build a team around and as young coaches to grow with the team. Dimma nearly didn’t make it remember, could have easily been pushed out after 2016.

If Clarko can do it again - then he deserves the messiah tag, otherwise they are both equally great coaches at the moment.

Said he was pumped about our future, our youth.

I hope he hangs around.

I hope he hangs around.
He has them eating out of his hands.
He scares them but he hugs them at the same time
It's hard, nearly impossible to find that in a coach.
People thinking it may be time for a change.
Need to change clubs.

Caracella yes, truck no.

No one would begrudge Rutten the opportunity to take a senior coaching role somewhere. There is room for him to rejoin the Tigers if we want him.

But Caracella showed his loyalty lay elsewhere. While I think he is a great assistant, our current crop of coaches is apparently doing a good job and there are other options coming through all the time.
Carcella ended any chance of a senior gig going back to the shithole

when asked at the press conference about the Bombers and his history there

"I've got one sash running through my veins and that's the yellow..."

nice Dimma
I'll bump artball's post to show it again. Just watching his presser now. This is how you build a team.

That was about as close to a drive by Dimma will ever give.
Reckon the Bombers could offer him money/length of contract that would be beyond a godfather offer and Dimma would still reject it.
Reckon Dimma will coach us for another 3-4 years and depart a club legend. This time frame will see us through the rebuild of sorts we will go through and he will hand over a team reset for another dip at a flag.

Damien's presser came across as a coach who's sick of fighting AFL House. Absolutely teed off on the pathetic review tech.
He's *smile* over it all.

I don't blame him for a second. They've compltely *smile* a great sport & I myself am a bee's *smile* from walking away from the sport I grew up loving.

Thank heavens for the flags.

There's no next week. But there is next year.

PRE has already a few threads on next year.

We knew where we were. What can we be?

Had to shut down Neal fullstop Blind Freddy could see his running the game.

Thought Fagans tactics of shutting down some of our key players was the difference
This. Bolton was shut out and Rioli's influence was greatly diminished after half time (wonder if that knock to the head affected him). Andrews did ok on Lynch in a lot of their one on one contests. Brisbane's match winner Neale was slowed but never stopped.

Imho you should always have a player prepared to go do a shut down role. We’ve never tagged Neale and won most times so I can understand Dimmas thoughts
