Sure that's true 22. States win support by keeping it out.Hang on, there is still massive support for states imposing lockdowns and closing borders. Why would a poltician commit themselves to an opening date? Better to let things evolve and take a stance when things are clearer. Can compare ourselves all you like with South Korea but Australians don't accept 4 cases a day let alone 400.
But you can compare us to the US or the UK or most other western countries if you want - we need to vaccinate faster, sort the logistics out, encourage people to get vaccinated, use passports, lotteries whatever to get the job done. States could say - you have vax passport, you can cross our border.
You need to give businesses certainty and people hope.
