If the Feds had wanted a bit of credibility in recent months, which IMO was and is much required, they could built a facility like this themselves.
Instead, the timing of this reeks of an embarrassed government seeking petty revenge against Vic Labor for showing some initiative addressing the global mRNA vaccine shortage. Seems like a no-brainer building a facility capable of producing the best vaccines available, and its not like we can't afford it - we saved $70 Billion last year...once Frydo realised he'd forgotten to carry the one in his JobKeeper sums.
I'm not a fan of the belt & road initiative but the timing certainly seemed dubious at best.
It was only a MOU anyway. No actual deals done. Didn't need a big "announcement"

Don't like their chances of receiving adequate medical care over there ATM. Death toll starting to follow the infection rate.

Not sure if there is a lot of incentive to "open up" just yet. People are still hesitant to go interstate let alone os. But yes a hurry up,in vaccination here is sorely needed.

Same. Actually I don't want any quarantine. I need to be able to fly in and out for a weekend.
It's obvious we need to shut down flights from India. It is absolutely out of control there and they have no hope of containing it. That we are still accepting flights from India is insane.
Now we have a new positive case in Victoria today. A man who stayed at a quarantine hotel in Perth arrived back in Melbourne on Wednesday and tested positive this morning. He initially went home but is now in hotel quarantine and his wife and 2 kids are in home quarantine. Who knows if he has passed the virus onto anyone else at Melbourne airport. It seems he was notified immediately after he landed that he was a close contact and took precautions so hopefully it is contained.
Also, there are 6 close contacts of the Sydney quarantine hotel outbreak who are now back in Melbourne in home quarantine and awaiting test results........................

Everyone on the flight from Perth has to do 14 days quarantine.
I got a test done a couple of weeks ago and had the result that evening. If there was any news on the Sydney close contacts, we'd have heard it by now.
It's just a matter of time before we have another outbreak and everything that comes with it - and all without the level of vaccination protection that we were expecting to achieve by now, thanks to this utterly incompetent Federal Government.
