Coronavirus

So that’s 3 out of 100,000 so far :)

A friend of a friend overheard a taxi driver tweeting that you have to sit in between Andrew Bolt and Steve Price if you go to a Richmond Grand Final.

They can't make me go.

I have rights

Steve Price. What a ****.

Last year in the deep depths of the pandemic when we had one of those short intervals of lessened restrictions, I had to go down to the Richmond Superstore. They’d just opened up under their own stringent conditions ie limited numbers, face masks, distancing etc.

In walks Price. No mask, nothing. Standing on top of others in the shop. Smug look on his face like he knew exactly what he was doing. One of the shop assistants mentioned to him the safety requirements and all he got was “ah whatever” or something to that effect.

Bloke is a total ***.

A good twitter thread that sheds some light on how and why the antivax / QAnon mob think what they do.

I only really know one of these types and this twitter post is right on the money with that person.
Pride and social media comes into it to. Once they have made their opinions known to just about every person they know via social media postings, it would take alot to make them backtrack.

Another 12 deaths today.
Great that hospitalisation rates continue to drop as we click over 88% double dosed (12+) but it's still impacting the lives of plenty.
Hopefully that vax rate hits 90% really soon as there's atlk today of further easing of restrictions.

I was thinking about this too..... a lot of people are so apathetic to the situation, it's sadly becoming like just a regular thing, where you hear it, then move on with your day.
Part of the reason I sort of don't get the anti-vaxxers.... maybe they reckon God or Ron L. Hubbard wil protect them.

It's quite depressing if some are the deaths are dual vaxxed. Obviously underlying conditions but killed by the virus and unvaxxed alike.

If Anti-vaxxers are dying, then that's just Darwinism at work

Adem Somyurek is a dog if he does what he's saying he's gonna do. a Labor man (even a dodgy one), will never support the views of right wing extremists for the sake of political revenge.

And now the SOE powers remain in place and the "unelected beauracrats" still have the power to lockdown the state, which was supposed to be their gripe in the first place.

But it seems like they start with a "Dan is bad" position and then work their way backwards to justify it regardless of what he does.

Hospitalisations are coming down but slowly. We’re still tracking at over a 1000 cases a day. NSW’s needle seems to have moved quicker than ours. Are we the most militant state and with less care around things v the other states ? Somethings just not right in this state, and hasnt been the whole journey.

that’s the stupidity of it all. no one wins here. and that especially includes the opposition. And the protesters are dumb enough to believe the SOE will end on Dec 15. All its gonna do is make them spend more rainy/cold nights on Spring St for no ultimate gain.

It has to be weather and/or lifestyle related doesn't it?

We can only speculate other than analyse data on relative risk factors (Eg age, weight distributions between states). I’d speculate we spend more time indoors because it’s colder/wetter and that is main Cause and secondly because of the first long lock down more people broke the rules on the second one because they were over it.

The press attacking Victoria pretty mercilessly hasn't help but ultimately despite all the noise we're on track to be the one of the highest vaccinated cities in the world. Things are getting back to normal. I prefer to celebrate that than dwell on the negatives anymore.
