Changes vs Swans

Hopefully we find a brand over the next few weeks as I haven’t seen one for the past 2 years.

I think the side that grafts us into finals looks roughly like this

b. Broad grimes vlastuin

Hb rioli gibcus baker

C short pickett kmac

Hf cumbo balta clarke

F JR Dusty MRJ

foll: soldo, taranto, $hai

Int: cotchy, hopper, dion, sampa

Emg: graham, ralphsmith, miller, young

CHF is the tricky spot - balta, gibcus, sampa, broad, all possibles

I think Marlion is in AA form and needs to be deployed on ball

Have to CHANGE gear with TARANTO and the midfield - not forever but for now.

TARANTO to permanent half forward can compete in the air and tackle and keep it in.

DUSTY and SHAI to attend more centre bounces. We still have a stack of MIDS.

We still have so much talent out there - Hawks won a flag after Buddy left, Cats after G Ablett left - we are not a one man team.

MILLER will compete hard and do well in the ruck, having TARANTO as a pressure fwd allows MAURICE to stay closer to goal - think GOALS not just tackles

Still a very exciting side, check the bench, young and promising team

Young Balta Grimes

Baker. Vlastuin. Rioli

K MAc. Prestia. Pickett. (the other one that could do the CHF TARANTO role)

Dusty. Taranto. Cumberland

M Rioli. Jack. Samson

MIller
Bolton
Hopper

ic. - CLArke Sonsie Ross Cotchin. em. Dow

Ross or Cotchin?
Can’t play Ross, Cotchin, Sonsie, Prestia, Hopper and Taranto in the same side.
I think Ross could play the Graham roll.
Cotch sub?

Ryan is our best option in the ruck looks good with Miller relieving him.

I don't buy into that 'same side' BS - that's just me

Our flag chances went with Dion's hammy in the elimination final. No way we were beating Melbourne, Geelong and Sydney without him.

I reckon Prestia getting knocked out severely dented our chances at top 4 and the premiership

I'd be drawing a line in the sand about team standards with him. No chance it will happen, but it's what I'd do.
More chance of getting compliments on the umpiring than Bolton being dropped.

If you are dropping Bolton on standards then you might as well drop Baker as well. He was just as bad as Bolton last week.

True but he isn't a recidivist.

Bolton is just as likely to be best on ground this week but if it isn't addressed at some point his individual first approach will cost us again down the track.

Because they fit into my team :) ahead of Mansell and Ralphsmith.
No if they are all good enough the best players should play. Of the group you mentioned, Ross is obviously the one up for debate but I think he should have played last week. They are all in the team I put up, just a minor role shuffle with Taranto permanent forward. Rest are mids being Ross, Hopper, Prestia, Sonsie, and Dusty and Shai more time in there. I would also try Cotch through Half Back for a while see if that works.

- talls are different, can't be too tall or play too many balls.
