Changes versus Port

Reckon we need to find a spot for Caddy next week. His big body and nasty streak will be very handy against Port. Not sure who he replaces though. I would go Castagna as he's hardly played a good game all year. But Dimma loves him so that won't happen. Maybe Lambert as he looks to be really struggling; kicked like a mule tonight as well. Like George he has had a poor year I believe.

We all know Dimma will back the boys who have got it done before but I think we need Caddy.

I think Dimma remembers Caddy for other reasons against Port.

No way Lambert or Castagna get dropped.

If we keep the same team as tonight, changes from our last game vs them in round 11:
Out: -> In:
Chol -> Astbury
Stack -> Cotchin
Aarts -> Graham
Ross -> Prestia
Caddy -> Edwards
Eggs -> Houli
Soldo -> Nankervis

Pretty handy changes

Yeah we missed so many of our best players last time. No way we lose the I50 count by 30 again, will be much closer around the ground, we just need to ensure we can continue to expose their short backline. McKenzie played on Hawkins last week and people will say he beat Hawkins, but Hawkins had 6 scoring shots. You wouldn't want many games to give a full forward 6 scoring shots. Lynch had 8 kicks at goal tonight, he's normally a very good kick so I'd back him in to kick straighter next week.

If they do go 3 men up (I expect Jonas will play as 3rd man in between Jack - Clurey - and Lynch - McKenzie), we need both talls to do similar as they did tonight and bring that ball to ground for the kiles of Bolton and Edwards to clean up.

I still fancy us to beat them next week. Reckon Port are very good IF they get the game purely on their terms, they struggle when teams break on them with speed. Ie. we scored with great ease against them, we just didn't get it forward enough, we'll have it a lot more forward next week than earlier this year, Saints beat them with speed.

If you can break through their forward press, they are a relatively slow and undersized defence so they can be stretched by height and speed.

gone the love child!
:mhihi Yeah that hasn't been around for a while has it :mhihi

Not really what I meant; just that Dimma believes he is very important to the way we play and fair enough. I just don't think we have seen anywhere near enough of the 2017-2019 George this year and would rather Caddy's tough body and mean streak against Port.

No change.

and I actually can't see what possible change anyone could want

I think the most vulnerable player in tonights side is Dave Astbury.

and as if were gonna drop him?

We picked a side to challenge Port, a week early.

No change.

Nankervis + Astbury=Nankerbury?
Nankervis + Balta=Balank? Or Blank or Blankety Blanks????

Unchanged, it's a team that won a shortened semi by 5 goals. But Markov for Lambert would be a move that makes sense.
