Changes V Pies

Out Houli, CJ, Ross, Naish, Aarts (if Lambert if fit)
In Rioli, Nank, Stack, Dow, Lambert (if fit)

FB Grimes Astbury Stack
HB Rioli Vlastuin Baker
C Pickett Martin McIntosh
HF Lambert Riewoldt Edwards
F Castagna Lynch Bolton
R Nank Cotchin RCD
I/C Graham Dow Chol Baker

So team above probable. One of Aarts or Naish should stay in with Lambert being out.

I think listening to Burge, Vlastuin will play but I'm not 100% sure Shedda will. Reckon he might miss. If he does then both Aarts and Naish will keep their places I think.

Our VFL team will be seriously undermanned this week.

Can't imagine too many unforced changes this week. Maybe Ross, Naish or Aarts may make way but the more experienced players will be safe. Dimma wont go for all out youth yet.

Physical Performance Manager Peter Burge provides Richmond Media with an update on Toby Nankervis, Bachar Houli, Callum Coleman-Jones, Shane Edwards, Dion Prestia and Kane Lambert in the latest injury report.

Bachar Houli, ankle, (medium-term)

“It was (with) four and a half minutes to go in the game, he had an incident on the far wing where he hurt his ankle. (He) came down from a spoil/a contest, and it was not great to look at on the vision.

"Initially post game the assessment was that he had hurt his ankle, but scans the next day showed he had done a bit of damage to the syndesmosis in the ankle.

“It was decided that he should have some surgery to support the tibia and the fibula which support the ankle… same as ‘Broady’ and Noah Balta the week before.

“Probably if there is a slight positive, (it is that) Bachar’s is not quite as bad. He was able to walk around the next day and feel reasonably comfortable, but the surgery will still help to support that ankle joint.

“We expect his return will be a couple of weeks at best, but again we will have a better idea probably in a week or two as to what that exact timeframe might look like.”

Nick Vlastuin, knee, questionable

“Nick had an incident early in the game where he had a knock to his knee, he was quite sore during the game, and he played it out.

“We have had some scans in the following days, and he has got a little bit of medial ligament damage in his knee which will not necessarily rule him out of the game this week.

“It is on the mild-end of the spectrum, (so) it is straight-line running tomorrow, and then assess him to main train later on in the week to look at his availability for Sunday based on that session.”

Shane Edwards, ankle, questionable

“Shane Edwards had an incident early in the game where he slipped and jammed the back of his ankle. He required a bit of medical treatment early in the first quarter and we had to re-tape his ankle.

“He finished off the game… (but) he is still pretty sore from that incident, and he has also still got the medial ligament issue on that same ankle, that he recovered from a few weeks ago.

‘We are going to assess Shane during the week and make the call later in the week as to whether he plays or not.”

Callum Coleman-Jones, calf, (short-term)

“'CJ' was reporting late in the second quarter, just a little bit of soreness with his calf. At half-time we just took the approach to remove him from the game and activate the sub.

"So, ‘CJ’ will most likely miss this weekend, but we expect that he will be in a position next week to return to play.”

Toby Nankervis, knee, probable

“Toby has had a good last week. He will train fully tomorrow and again Friday. He will have to get through all the usual ruck scenarios that he would do in a game before we give him the final tick off, but it is looking fairly positive at this stage.

“We will make a call later in the week.”

Dion Prestia, hamstring, (short-term)

“Dion is running again and running at a reasonable pace. Dion won’t be available this week but depending on when our game is next week, we will have a look at training and make a judgment.

“He is progressing well, (he has) obviously had a pretty rough trot this year. We are hoping to get him in a position to return to play and keep him on the park for the rest of the year.”

Kane Lambert, hip/calf, (short-term)

“He will start running again tomorrow. This calf injury is a little bit related to a hip issue he has been managing.

“He will miss this week and then we will make an assessment next week as to how he is progressing for a return to training and hopefully selection.”

Ins: Nank, Stack, Parker, Rioli, Mansell (Rioli or Mansell to be the sub)
Outs: CCJ, Houli, Naish, Ross, Dow

If Edwards is a late out, both Rioli and Mansell will play. Dow needs a full game so back to the ressies, and Martyn to be the Sub

Like a lot of posters here, our problems have started in the midfield and more specifically the ruck.
Nank is our most important player, bar none!
Looks like Houli, CCJ, Prestia and Lambert are definite outs. (CCJ would have been dropped for Nank for sure). Edwards looks doubtful and I think we need to give him an extended rest - he hasn't looked right since his return
Dow did enough to give him another try and lets face it we need all the mid-fielders we can get.
I would also like us to try Dusty in a CHF type role (similar to the way GWS play Green). He is not giving us the drive out of the middle that we need and I think this is worth a try at trying to straighten us up - we just defend monotonously to the wings every time (and usually lose out there).

Outs: Houli, CCJ, Prestia, Lambert, Naish
Ins: NANK, Dow, Parker, Rioli, Mansell

FB Grimes Astbury Baker
HB Mansell, Vlastuin Short
C Pickett Cotchin McIntosh
HF Riewoldt Martin Aarts
F Chol Lynch Castagna
R Nank Cotchin Bolton
I/C / Sub: Graham, Dow, RCD, Riolo, Parker

Only have to win 4/7 (maybe 5/7) to make it. Yes, its been a disappointed few weeks but provided there is enough fight in the old tigers we can make an impact. We are still 5th favourites to win it! Fortunately the pies biggest issues are their midfield. Would be great if we could get though a week relatively unscathed!

Ins: Bolton maximum midfield time especially centre bounces.
Cotchin to play the Aarts role spending more time in the fwd line.
RCD to be given maximum midfield time.
If Edwards plays must be midfield
Id give Ross one absolute last chance and give him 100% midfield time with the words must get hands on ball first at every CB and stoppage tattoed to his forehead.
Parker to take Georges spot
Rioli down the back
Stack down the back
Baker either fwd pressure role or plays in the guts
Pickett to play wing all game. No rucking
Tag one of their midfielders for a change
Knee into the ribs of USA at the first opportunity.
Elliot the danger man so needs Grimes

Interesting.
Could be Ins:
Syd A Knee, Rioli, D and debut Rioli M Jnr in the dreamtime guernsey on the G?
Haven't won since taking this guernsey off.

I’m assuming that Vlastuin plays but Edwards, CCJ and Houli don’t

out - CCJ, Edwards, Houli, McIntosh, Castagna
In- Nankervis, Dow, Stack, Parker, Mansell

We need to get Castagna and Macca out as their skills have been horrible

like it bricci apart from-
.mrs? cotch fitness
.id slot kmac h/b in a broad role & parker to wing
.shedda hopefully good also

grimes asto baker
mansell vlas kmac
pickett cotch parker
jack martin george
chol lynch aarts

nank edwards bolton
i/c graham dow rcd short - stack/rioli

Parker must come in, 11 tackles against the Ants, we need his pressure. The same with Mansell he has gone back to the VFl and has worked on his game, get him back in, he'll fly the flag. The same goes with Stack, he has done his time, we need his skill and hardness.

We can't keep taking players into games who aren't fit.

In Stack, Parker, Mansell, Dow, Nank if fit

Out Vlastuin, Houli, Edwards, CJ, Castagna-Sub

injury report would be giving a players situation as of monday afternoon, almost a week before the actual game,so things can change .

we are playing in our indiginous guernsey
really hope that is a hint we may go all out and play all our indiginous players to really add some spark and excitement

We face a weak Collingwood team and despite our own poor form I think we will win comfortably.
But to have any real chance of returning to the eight and doing well into September, some structural changes (and mindset changes) would also help.

George is playing without any confidence and should take over as sub this week. Naish and Ross together with injured players also out.

In their place I’d like to see us make changes to a group, which we can expect to show some fight.

In: Dow, Mansell, Miller, Nankervis, Parker, Rioli D, and Stack.
Out: Coleman-Jones, Castagna, Edwards, Lambert, Prestia, Ross and Vlastuin.

B Astbury Grimes Miller
HB Stack McIntosh Mansell
C Pickett Dow Chol
HF Bolton Martin Riewoldt
F Short Lynch Collier-Dawkins
R Nankervis Graham Baker
I/C Aarts Cotchin Parker Rioli D,
Sub Castagna.
