Changes Rd22 West Coast

They've had an easy run.

They will feel out of sorts on a cold winters day in Melbourne.

They will lose well.

we can't be playing first gamers this time of the year. The only change will be Bolton for Dusty. If it rains on Sunday, Bolton might come in for Chol.

I think this will be it. Only other change might be swapping out Chol for Soldo. But I think thats a long shot due to Hickey and Vardy being more the mobile type.

I think we are tracking well compared to the Eagles form line this year

Against Top 8 teams so far
Tigers played 8, won 5 lost 3
Eagles played 7, won 3 lost 4

Tigers beat: pies, port, port, giants, Essendon
Eagles beat: giants, pies, Essendon

Tigers lost: pies, giants, cats
Eagles lost: pies, cats, port, lions

There is not much difference in those results to be honest apart form the timing on when the wins and losses occurred.

The tigers lost 2 of their 3 top 8 games loses in the first three rounds (pies and giants)
The eagles won 2 of their 3 wins against top 8 teams in the first three rounds (giants and pies)

So the only straw I can pull out of all that is over the last 17 games, the eagles have had only ONE win against a top 8 team (Essendon) while the tigers have had FIVE wins (Port twice, giants, Essendon and Pies).

The only outlier in all this is that the Eagles lost to the lions in round 1 and we play them in round 23

...............therefore I suspect there is not much separating the two teams

..............this dam lopsided draw makes these comparisons almost impossible

In Perth at the moment and it is interesting reading the local papers. While there is respect for Richmond (plenty of them have Richmond as favorites), all the analysis reads like it is a one-man team in Dusty. What is most overlooked is Tom Lynch.

I think Victoria under-estimated the quality of WCE's players last year leading up to the grand final. Funny, it seems to be the other way around this time.

I was listening in to the SEN team selections while making dinner last night, a few thoughts.

They have no idea!

I suppose thats what happens when you need to have an opinion on 9 games, 18 clubs and 378 selected players not to mention the coaches/umpires and other variables.

It ends up being a guess and comment then spit out a hither dither -but with conviction- answer!

Another thought when watching the team selections on Fox Sport later on.

They have no F idea either!

Being a dry day will suit the Eagles so the Eagles will win!

A quick flick through 6 or 7 Weather sites and its Windy and Rainy!!!

Don't waste your time with these wild guessers, stick to PRE ;)

Eagles also lost 3 of those 4 in the first 6 rounds. Both Tigers and Eagles had a lot of injuries throughout the first half of the year but both plenty to pick from now. The past is history. This game is going to be a real test and a very important game for shaping the final 8. Very interested and excited to see how we go in this game.

Rather it be warm and sunny. You know like what the conditions would be on Grand Final day.

When we win in those conditions then West Coast will have no excuses

I hope its a windy freezing Melbourne day.

Hopefully Hardwick has learnt from his mentor Clarkson how to get the boys in the mood for cold weather.

I think the entire cheer squad should strip to their undies when the side runs out.

actually, forget I said that.

maybe it would be more encouraging and a better show of solidarity by the WAGS?

From what I saw at training I think it might be:

In: Soldo, Dusty
Out: Nank, Shai
