We should follow in the footsteps of essendon and trade some of our inconsistent senior players while we are able to get something decent.

we have too mant left footers in the team and altough chaffey has been good for us he turns the ball over too easily. i would like to get people's opinion about trading these two and also what you think would be a suitable trade ?

chaffey for a draft pick 10 - 20 sounds fair.

chaffey and bowden to the dogs for Murphy and pick 50...will be perfect..they get 2 ready made "players"...to bolster their young side and we get someone who can actually deliver.

What did the poor dogs do to deserve them? Give 'em break.

Throw in Kellaway and Hall.  If we can get a 2nd, 3rd or 4th round pick for each of these then they should be traded.

Nah they can keep Murphy, not strong enough, he only looks good at the Dogs coz he is in a rabble of a team, put him in a good side and he is just an above average player.

I ask u this would u put Murphy in the Lions team atm??? of course not

They won't get anything for Kellaway. Hall might be better off going to the swans.
If we can't trade Bowden then drop him from the list. He ain't worth holding onto any more.

Maybe your right..they are still smarting from the Harrison trade..so they have shut up shop with us

Memo ...Chaff and Bowdo are very required players at the RFC for the next 16 rounds at least and probably a few weeks into September as well. ;)

It's very premature to call for trading of players we want to perform at their best for us. ::)

Go Chaff. Go Joel. Go Tiges. :D

I actually thought the best time to trade Chubba was after he won All-Australian when he was worth something. Now he is the same player he was then, with rock-bottom value.

Id keep Chaff......I wanted to trade Bowden last year.

I'd keep Chaffey - no doubt he has skills but they need to be refined better at hitting targets just like the rest of the team. Bowden - just like Danny Green said about Mundine. " He has a heart the size of a Tic-Tac !

That’s the difference between Richmond and Essendon. Essendon won’t tolerate players whose skill level, ball delivery aren’t up to standard, if it can’t be fixed you’re out of the club. Where Richmond will makes excuses and hang onto the player as long as they can. And to make it worse, Richmond is dumb enough to recruit those reject players from Essendon or other clubs.
Maybe once in a while Richmond should ask themselves this question “Why is this player being dropped from the list in the first place?”

Seven,
You've just shot a hole in one.
Essendon did just what you said with Paul Salmon. Give up a 27yo and pick up a chance to get a couple of 200 game players.
There are about 10 players who can come off our list at the end of this season, traded or delisted, and there's a great bunch of talls, mediums and smalls in the TAC.
You can see them tomorrow at 1pm at the Preston City Oval.

Richmond some times makes me laugh. Remember last draft, Miller was tring to convince that Hall (and trade pick) was a good swap for Solomon and Sheedy wouldn't have a bar of it. Makes you wonder. Richmond thinks Hall is a good player, Essendon think he is average player. No wonder we struggle.

Remember Solomon is still only 24yo. In 3 years time if Richmond still offers a trade to get Solomon when he's 27, I'm pretty sure Essendon will be interested.

The fact Essendon wouldn't trade Solomon blows apart the theory Essendon wont tolerate players whose ball delivery isn't up to standard. Good player but very average kick.

Why are we talking about trading players when there's still a large chunk of this season to go and a chance for these players to impress. I notice no one mentioned Fleming in this one. What's changed from a couple of weeks ago when we all wanted him sacked? He's played a couple of half decent games. Wait until it's closer to the end of the season before you start trading players. We'll have a new coach and hopefully we can trust him to make the right decisions.
