Cotchin will captain the Tigers against the Eagles this weekend. I think he is a fantastic choice to cover Newman. In fact I believe the club should install Cotchy as our club captain as of next season. Just let Newman get his game right down back.

I don't see any reason to make Cotchin captain yet . He is already carrying a lot of responsibility on the field as effectively the leader of the midfield so why increase that now at age 21 ?

He is obviously the next captain of the club, but I think 2013 at the earliest, maybe 2014. He's only a kid and could just use another season or two to iron out inconsistencies and get confindence in breaking tags without the pressure of the captaincy as well. It will do his game the world of good. And unlike some here, I think Newy's growing in the role. If only he had some more support in the backline.

This kid is carrying a lot on his shoulders already . Newman seems to have the support fo the Club and the playing group so just let it be . Cotch is VC and Captain in waiting , leader of the midfield group and most probably our best player now . He is 21 years old . The key is to build a young leadership group around him that can take us forward when he is Captain .
I would love to see Newmo lead the team out in a final before he retires . He deserves it .
