Callum Coleman-Judas - extricate yourself to Nth Ballarat, you git

It's interesting the way we're using CJ and Chol in the 2s. CJ has always looked like a ruck/forward and Chol a forward/ruck, yet Chol is playing first ruck with CJ forward and relieving.

Possible reasons:
- To improve CJ's forward play because if and when he gets a game it's likely to be as 2nd ruck
- To get Chol involved in the game from the first bounce, because focus and intensity have been issues for him (it's working)
3. Both.
(iv). Chol is a better ruckman.
E. Chol is a better footballer.

I would have to agree Spook. Chol was dominate in all areas his was playing but more so the ruck. Agile, aggressive and beautiful foot skills. How was that pass to Ryan in the first quarter?

He laced out CJ - did he serve them both on a platter?

Sure did.
Chol has everything you need in a big man. His only issue was urgency and desire on a consistent basis. On today’s performance he nailed it.

I posted that that's a reason he's been playing ruck and it looks like it's working. He's having a good season.

From my observation watching the replay on TV Chol was probably BOG in the reserves whereas CCJ was a dominant big man but was not as prominent throughout the game, particularly when he went into the ruck. I would promote Chol before CCJ based on today's performance.

seen enough of Chol when he plays AFL doesn’t play with any intensity and drops marks he should be taking in the forward line
CCJ needs a run of AFL games to show what he can do

I’ve got concerns about his mobility. Jack and Lynch are both pretty slow as it is. But at some point they are going to have to pull the trigger and give him a run.

That’s why I now think Chol is the far better option

I thought the same last week too.

Either way, one of Chol or CCJ won’t be at the club next year.

Right now, they both deserve a chance at the AFL level.

We need to generate maximum value from one on the trade market.

Unfortunately our trade history is average at best. The deals we got for Butler, Higgins & Markov was terrible.

Rather see what CCJ can offer at AFL level to form a view. We know what Chol can do - flashes here and there but no impact in big games/moments. Dreadful in qualifying final last year. Not up to it imo.

Chol will play 3 great games making us think he could be anything. Followed by 3 average games. Then 3 completely MIA games.

We could do with 3 great games from a forward ruck right now.

Therein lies the great Cholly conundrum. If only we could find a way to get him playing good to great games on a regular basis. He's got all the weapons in the arsenal to be a bloody brilliant footballer, just can't quite get all those little mind farts burbling along in harmony.

I reckon Chol has had his chance and barring absolute emergencies I can't see him in AFL again. No team can do well with a player who does a couple of good things and then goes missing for the rest of the game

Chol's problems have been well documented on the site. Even though he can shine at VFL where the pressure is off more his mindset switches off more than it is switched on. I would love to see him make it but he needs more for the Tigers to take another risk with him
