Callum Coleman-Judas - extricate yourself to Nth Ballarat, you git

Having thought about it, I don't harbour any angst towards CCJ.

He plssed away his chance to win a flag last year and has moved on for better opportunities, be it gametime and/or coin.

It's my belief that every tiny bit of stuff which happens in footy clubs can help or hurt teams to win the ultimate prize.

He's been at the club for 2 of our flags and so therefore he's had a hand in that success.

With all the crap that appeared to go on between Richmond and the AFL last year, just maybe, his indiscretion was the final bit of stuff which galvanised the club to forge forward.

I'm not overjoyed that he's gone, but I certainly won't be booing him. He'll soon be forgotten and if we happen to snag a gem in the future with his draft pick..... some of the haters will be hailing it as a genius trade.

So, just like Callum. ... I've already moved on:)

How so? The kid can play.

Doesn’t hurt us. We have Ryan and whoever else we pick up in drafts or free agency.
Personal and quality, probably not much, but time, yes.....dies hurt a bit. Can't blame the bloke, the bit that hurts is what responsibility he seems to have shown after a boozy kabab

Yep , I’ve seen some horrendous comments from some *smile* weak dogs on social media . Just like Higgins and Brando in my eyes they *smile* on “ My” club and showed a lack of loyalty , however at the end of the day your spot on Ezzzy , I don’t wish them any harm as professional sports people, the rat bastards :))

And he's a Richmond VFL premiership player. Was a strong contributor to it as well.

He was swamped by North fans today at Arden st this morning. All 52 members were there to welcome him to the club.

Ok, so CJ wanted more game time.

I would've preferred he signed on again with us. Why couldn't he just train harder than he's ever trained before, and demanded the 2nd ruck or 2nd tall forward position next year.

Who knows what his, and Syd's indiscretion on the Gold Coast cost us. Was the 100K fine any part of the reason why Fly or Leppa or Rob Innes left?

Callum No More owes the RFC.

Kababs were being waved in the air as he entered the club rooms. Garlic sauce everywhere.
They really made him feel at home.

He's going to North. Up forward there's competition between CCJ, Larkey and a half sucked Mars bar.
He'll play forward and relieve Goldstein.
And Goldy hates to relinquish first ruck; seldom rests; probably thinks he can keep going for another 2/3 years even as he rarely gets injured. So CCJ is not going to see a whole lot more of No.1 ruckman role anyway.

Meanwhile Norf lose those picks including next year's 2nd, plus their back-up and VFL ruck in Scerri to the Aints. Plus their best KPD, Tarrant. Not sure they have won so much, nor CCJ as much as he might think.

Great post TBV, a nice change from some of the tacky stuff on display.

The young man has set himself up with the opportunity to be financially secure for the rest of his life, as well as a shot at more opportunity as a footballer.

People have all sorts of different motivations in life, and they aren't right or wrong. Personally, I'll be hoping he plays well and has a fine career, even though I wish it had of been at Richmond.

I am certainly not for rabidly sticking pins in voodoo dolls, but there is something unlikeable about CCJ.

Can play, has talent, but just might be nudging our no DH policy a bit far.

I wonder if he’d been offered a fatter contract if he was a better bloke

The other thing to take into account is Goldy had an alleged indiscretion a few years ago. Which led to a separation/divorce.
He also blew a lot of money on the
Punt.
So he had to start again financially and potentially pay money to his ex.
He's gonna play until the wheels fall off

Maybe, but I've always said a no DH policy comes with an asterix that says unless they can play footy well.

I suspect a few things have happened to cause this mess, firstly having too much love for Riewoldt to make the hard call on moving him on.
You can never have too much love for Riewoldt

Don't forget CCJ and his manager let North know that he didn't want to go into the preseason draft knowing that this would help Richmond in negations.

So calling him a traitor and Judas is way off the mark.

In addition one of Lids draft pick lives on to be used again. (the other is Balta)

I'm with you, overall, except for that it's another wasted draft investment of 4 years and makes us vulnerable if JR or Tom go down with a significant injury, Jack with only a year left anyway too. We definitely needed/wanted to keep one of Chol/CCJ.

However, you can't blame either of them accepting much longer offers on better $$$ for their long term security, as did BEllis. My only gripe was with CCJ for what he cost us along with Stack over kebabgate. Chol more acceptable as struggled to make first 22 over his several years and took an offer that moves him back close to family. Goes with our blessing similar to Brando.

I think we really wanted to keep CCJ for above reasons, but what message did he receive from us listing Colina as Cat.B along with taking Ryan as our only exercised pick in the last draft. Already behind Nank obviously and with Soldo on the way back, CCJ clearly did not back himself enough to establish his slot in our best 22.

That's disappointing, but I can't blame him too much for grabbing the great offer Norf appeared to throw his way. I was more really annoyed at Norf niggling away at our quality drafting selections after their recent history - after enabling Dusty's manager to weasel huge extra $$ to re-sign him. I posted about why I hated this steal due to loathing that pissant club who have failed to develop their own list. However, quite happily appeased after the deal we have done.

So, sayonara Callum. Hope we don't miss you at all. You made your choice - hope you don't regret it at the end of your career. (Actually reckon he and manager positioning to attract a healthy return-to-Adelaide offer when he reaches UFA).
