Callum Coleman-Judas - extricate yourself to Nth Ballarat, you git

Four year contracts at Norf… Who is to say that pathetic club will even be in existence over that period? Young CJ might find himself in the NT or Tasmania before that contract is even finished!

You get the feeling first Higgins and now the artist formerly known as Cujo threw their toys out the cot for not getting a Grand Final gig. (or two or three)
Like it's an entitlement.

I am cutting Butts some slack (for leaving) as he is a RFC Premiership player.
Something the other two will never be.

He prob should have picked EssenDoom.

As EssenDoom = Entitlement !
(where have I seen that before? :)))

Agree. Pick 20 is par, if not slightly unders. CCJ was drafted at 20 and has 4 years of development in the system and finally started to show something that wasn't a Kebab.

To suggest he's depreciated in that time is utter *smile*

I agree it should be around Pick 20, but we need to be realistic, I highly doubt we will get Pick 20. I'd love to be proven wrong but they have all the leverage in this deal.

I think we may need to take Pick 38, get Tarrant for a future 4th and then use 38, 40, 44 and the Chol compo to trade up the order. We won't use them on players but the picks are still valuable and I back us in to make some good trades.

Butts never wanted to leave. His manager pushed too hard on the tigers offer which I think may have just been 1 year?. Or 2. Whether 1 or 2 was offered his manager wanted an extra year. Richmond then withdrew the offer completely. Butts was away on hols and found out afterwards.

In the article on trade updates in the Age today it said that it is generally felt that Richmond is going to play hardball on CCJ

I'm trying to understand how we can play hardball. He'll be out of contract by the time the ND comes along. So North has all the power here.
CCJ is definitely worth pick 20 and that's what North should hand over. A smooth trade but something tells me north ain't gonna play fairly, hope to be proven wrong.

Worst case we may have to package up CCJ and pick 40 for pick 20 or CCJ and next years 2nd rounder for Norths pick 20 (our 2nd rounder next year could be high 30's) if as we expect to be challenging for a flag.

Richmond will play hard ball on a trade for Callum Coleman-Jones, with rival list managers believing the Roos will have to give over pick 20 as the centrepiece of the trade.

Wonder if this hard ball talk is more to try and shake a player out rather than a pick.

I agree, we always have the PSD to worry about when dealing with the Kangas.
I guess it depends on what hardball means? If pick 20 is in the mix that’s a decent result given the circumstances, unders for CCJ but that’s the hand we have been given.
Given we would have so many picks in the first 2 rounds, a 3rd rounder going back along with Tarrant in the trade and retaining the ability to get a pick for Chol would be the best we could expect.

If North low ball us with CCJ, all I can say is watch out when Tarryn Thomas comes out of contract at the end of 2022.

North may even want to keep the PSD pick open in case any Cerra deal falls through. Highly unlikely that it would happen.

Could be other deals that fail or out of contract players interstate looking to come home.

Not sure what picks north have in the future but as we already have a good draft hand this year, CCJ for Norths future 2nd round perhaps

I wish they’d hurry up and get this grand final *smile* out of the way so we can focus on the most important thing- trade week

I Feel that CJ wont be receiving any favours from Grimes Tigga Noah and Broad next year, he will get some torrid attention.

I doubt he is leaving the RFC on good terms, ala Higgins.
CCJ wants to play ruck doesnt he? That means Nank!
Why wold any ruck want to playa against Richmond.
