Bye Bye Jack Higgins!

how could you play him in the middle in the final quarter?
that was an audacious coaching move.

and he did it well.

did he stand in the middle during the first 3/4 ? i cant recall.

If we get everybody back on the park it will be interesting to see if Higgins keeps his spot, with Rioli back his getting squeezed out of the forward half and with Prestia due back it will make it hard to keep a spot in the midfield rotation, I like the kid and think he ads something a bit different , though he may appear to be the obvious out I won’t be shocked if he gets a few more games in the run to September

Probably already been mentioned but I think this guy is a clone of Dayne Zorko...

Watched the game again and noticed he was lucky to make 40 metres with his set shot on the half time siren.
Zorko is a very reliable set shot. I can't remember Higgins kicking a goal from a set shot.
He was very good in the middle, but with more time and more belief he will start to hit targets coming out of the Middle.
He didn't actually hit one target on Sunday

Unfortunately Zorko is an exceptional kick. Higgo needs some work there.

12.08 remaining in the 2nd qtr, higgins goes for a difficult mark, drops it and falls to the ground, quickly gets up and applies 3 consecutive pressure acts then smothers selwoods kick on the wing. Great play from the kid and why he's keeping his spot in the team.

Forgot about that smother in the euphoria of the game, it was brilliant.

The kid does have something about him.

Team inspirer!!

That’s footage is amazing!

What a thing to do on the field at the start of the second half. Great initiative by the captain as well. Now I just want to know what jack said!

Throwing him into the mid 4Q has been paying off.

Be tempted to give him a full game in the middle.

Dimma said in presser he’ll play more midfield with conca gone.

I was one of those that thought Higgins needs some time in the twos but he certainly seems to be making a name for himself in midfield. Good on him

x2.

He kicked a 50 metre set shot goal that was then sent for video review and incorrectly turned over and made a point.

Building. Said it when drafted him, he’s the Prestia replacement in a few years.

Last two weeks have been his best. Big games, with heat and he has been real good.

His last two weeks in the middle have been better than his early games up forward.
