Bye Bye Jack Higgins!

Higgo was arguably our best player of the 2018 finals series. Clearly was affected by his health issues in 2019.
If he can get back to his best, he'll force his way into the best 22. Fingers crossed for the lad.

yep its easy to forget he was one of a only a few winners in that nightmare '18 prelim

has alot of ticker on top of his obvious attributes..

The problem with Higlet coming back is who do we drop? Who doesn't get a run in the seniors because Higlets there.

If he plays predominantly forward all of Bolton, Rioli, Castagna would have to be in the gun's sights. Obviously Higgins won't be starting the season in the 1s and a lot can happen form-wise between round 1 and middle of the season when he might first be considered.

The MC doesn't get to pick the best 22 every week.

there's injury, suspension, managed loads, match ups (horses for courses), game plan evolution/modification (e.g caddy learning a role in the 2nds) and September timing and planning.

Higlets in for a long winter if he needs to unseat any of those blokes. But I dont see why Higlet cant line up round 1. He's as fit as a trout and his brain is better than it ever was. Higlet got the surgeon to divert more blood to his footy brain while he was in there. He had an extraordinary footy brain before the plumbing upgrade, so he'll take it another level with an extra 1-2% oxygen to work with.

I reckon the club will take a very cautious approach with him.

In the video on the club web site Jack does mention that he still has a bit of blurred vision.

Let's hope he's ok for Round 1, whether that's in the Firsts or Seconds.

Start him in the seconds, he will take a while to get back and we don't want or need to risk his health. He's young, will hopefully heal well, and he has time to get back and return to form.

Agree. No need to place pressure on him straight away.

Pretty sure it was stated he's looking later in the season to make a playing comeback.

Latest news is that Higgins is he has more than just recovered from brain surgery and is now flying in practice. Not only great news for us but even better for him. I am now confidently looking forward to his return to the firsts

Great news.

Maybe we can send the rest of the comp into meltdown by unleashing Higlet and Trossman after the bye :)):))

How good is it to see Higgo named?
An absolute testament to the lad's hard work & pure determination to get back to football after his horrendous injury & major surgeries.
Can't wait to cheer him on.
