Retired, along with Hale. Interesting he has "retired" when he said on GF day how much he wanted to play on in '16
Players probably say a lot of things while high on the adrenalin of a final, but then a few days after they think about another long hot off season and they reconsider their earlier words.

Retired is just a sweet way of saying he got nudged. Would have happily played on if there was a space for him, but with an ageing core to the list n some youngsters still requiring the opportunity to become generation next. There was always going to be someone getting nudged out, bloke can't complain to loud, took a punt hoping to snaffle a flag toward the end of his career. Bastard wound up with a threepeat n a Normie in his back pocket. Not a bad way to finish your career in any type of arena.

Brian stood up in big finals again as a composed, confident leader down - the polar opposite of our panicky General Chaplin.

except in the 1st final when Kennedy gave him a bath.
did he play on Jenkins who kicked 4 in wk 2?

he was good in the GF tho. certainly a good way to retire, 3 straight premierships.

It was Lake who did that brilliant smother in the goal square wasn't it? Anyone would think there was one point in it and the siren about to go. Such determination and brilliantly executed. Great to watch.

Massive difference being a valuable player in one of the best sides in the competition to moving to a middling side at the end of a career.

It would be embarrassing for all concerned.
