bowden on notice

Must have been imagining that tackle in the centre which resulted in a ball up. At least I don't watch games with blinkers on...can see the good and the bad ;)

Bowden should be traded to Hawthorn who must be the SOFTEST team in the league.

Should've seen Schwabby go spastic in their 3/4 time huddle !

ur missing th point

he is weak

i am glad bout th tackle etc

but for yrs and yrs he is weak

stop trying to justify th injustifiable

ok ok ok

we might disagree on pay and on simplistic examples from a game today, but he simply doesnt deserve a game.

1.  doesnt put body on the line
2.  no right side
3.  wont man up
4. cant hit targets
5.  plays smalll for a fairly big guy
6.  no team ethic
7. he's a bit of a rabbit

1. I have seen Bowden put his body on the line many times. Just because he's not necessarily an in and under player doesn't mean he's a bad player. Every team has their hard at it players and their receiving players. Take someone like Bradley at Carlton, was an outside player and played till he was 38.

2. No right-side, not as good as his left agree totally. Many league players fit into this category. Doesn't mean he isnt top 22.

3. Wont man up. Again, yes he is a loose player, but thats something you have to weigh up in your team makeup. Bowden can be very damaging if left alone. If a player rebounds off him, then it is also a risk they take. Bowden manning up tight wouldn't be in the best interest of Richmond's makeup and if the matching up of Bowden isnt working then it is up to the coach to readjust.

4. Absolutely not true. I have seen him many times this year hit long 60 metre targets. When he plays short I agree he is worse than your average player, however, the short game is not a gameplan Richmond should be using anyway in my opinion. This particua comment shows that you only concentrate on the bad things Bowden does not the good.

5. I wouldnt call him big, certainly not bulky, maybe fairly tall but not big.

6. No team ethic, again don't agree, as someone pointed out, the way he moves makes him look lethargic, but I dont think thats true. Sometimes, he gets caught, and I put that down to, not listening to his teammates calls, or them not keeping him aware of whats around him, not sure which.

7. A rabbit, not sure what that means, has lots of kids?

Bowden is in Richmond's top 22 and, if as some suggest we do give him away, I'd be wanting a decent trade for him.

Well said, I think that there is a massive tendency to focus on the bad stuff with Joel because we all know that his best footbal is fantastic and we expect that level from him all the time.

We have 8 left footers in the side and only Brown can confirdently use his right side and Hyde is the only other player who'll even attempt using his right side.

I disagree. Both Tivvendale (especially) and Fiora have shown they have the ability to pass competently on their right feet.
IMO it is more a confidence thing. The less confident they are the less likely they are to back themselves on their non preferred foot. Lefties in particular.

With all due respect TD, Fiora would do better trying to kick on his "natural" left foot before contemplating kicking it on his right.

That guy is one of the worst kicks I have ever seen in spotting the ball up to a leading target. He is a joke and his efforts on Sunday were just another crap display by a crap footballer.

Fair dinkum, he missed target after target... after target... without any pressure at all.

Anyone who thinks Fiora is a good passer of the football needs to see a doctor !!!

Yep if you want to concentrate on a footballer who doesnt seem to be able hit targets Fiora is your man.I like how he's willing to create run but jeeze I cringe everytime he has the pill.Apart from his poor disposal i suspect he's not one of the sharpest tool in the shed,he seems to makes some very strange decisions at times.

Here here Redford, informative and concise as usual. Fiora's kicking yesterday was abysmal, as usual. He just keeps missing targets under no pressure at all. It totally bemuses me how people rate him as a good kick.

Fiora and Bowden should be our primamry trade bait at the end of this year.

Get a room you two. It seems like Ridley and Redford are the same person who writes a comment and then logs under his other name and compliments himself on it! ;)

Ha ha JF. We would get a room but they're all taken up with PRE posters pursuing their love affairs with all the duds on the RFC list ;D

It is well documented that Joel is not my favorite player.

However, I'll go with Rosy, bg25 & others here and record that I saw him putting his body on the line a couple of times on Sunday.

Excellent post Ridley P. Rids. Once again, informative, concise, accurate and relevant.

Well done.

;D ;D ;D ;D

Well don't forget Chaffy. His turn over rate has to be up there with Fiora. Chaffy didn't over turn the ball as much against the swans, but mind you he hardly touched it.

How Chaffey gets by without any scrutiny is beyond me....another shocking game.

Well it looks like the preenders are starting to see instead of just watching.
There was a passage of play where he was picked up and thrown out to the play like a rag doll. Its about time people woke up to this guy. The media is hiding him under the "out of form" blanket, but he has never been up to the required standard.
