I know Towner is a favourite of all of us but to me there is no way he makes that team. His was a legendary cameo, one that will be spoken about by Tiger supporters for a long time. The spot where he buried a Crouch is a shrine on the MCG.
In terms of contribution over that time Caddy, Pickett, Graham, Castagna, Baker, Grigg and Ellis would all get picked before him in my team

I haven't named a "best 22 of the combined 3 flags" because I wouldn't wont to leave anyone out.
Deep into the 2nd quarter and 8 points down when Towner laid that bone cruncher, and then kicked a goal a few minutes later.
How could I leave Towner out of a best 22, he turned the 2017 GF around for us with that tackle, and laid another ripper of a tackle in the middle of the ground a bit later too.
Towner showed his teammates what winning takes, he inspired them to win the game.
Kinda forgotten how good the Crows were in 2017. Slaughtered sides home and away. Piled on big scores. Our GF performance was incredibly mature and disciplined.
He was great for a period of 7-8 weeks and on that day but I reckon there is a bit of mayo on your take. There were lots of heroes that day, he was just one of them.
Yes there were a lot of heroes "that day", but we eight points down deep into the 2nd quarter and only just going until Towner loosened Crouch's fillings with that tackle, he then kicked the next goal. Towner inspired his teammates and we we went into half time leading by 9 points. We smashed them in the 2nd half.
We had turned the game by then. Jack had kicked a goal and the game was starting to be played on our terms. We had lifted and our pressure was well up, Towner’s tackle was in that period.
Don’t get me wrong I loved the role he played that day and in the finals but the game had started to turn already, it didn’t happen because of the tackle.
In any side based purely on performance in Grand Finals, Houli and Short are the back flankers.
Some blokes played great games but whet unheralded.
Broad carved up Tom Lynch in the 2017 GF who was their key forward conduit target from defence to attack, all season and Towner and Caddy kept the Crows key backs from getting to Jack.
Broad also did some work on Toby Greene the week prior in the Prelim in 17.
