Very very happy with that (as long as he doesn't come with the Stevie J attitude).
Just a comparison I heard on radio last night, Ruby. What do our keen junior watchers think? Is this a reasonable comparison?

Don't want to suggest a connection to the real Vlad.

Re: Welcome to tiger land Ben Lennon

Another good u18 all Australian pick up
He will need to do a LOT of hard work on the running track and in the gym to match it in the elite league but it will come.
His highlights show his skills are sublime: he moves like Cotchin and kicks like Deledio

Re: Welcome to tiger land Ben Lennon

Last year I was really hoping to get Jake Stringer and we got Vlaustuin, who I wouldn't swap Leigh Matthews, this year we got our "Jake Stringer"......MAYBE BETTER.

Re: Welcome to tiger land Ben Lennon

Everyone has called this draft pretty shallow because it had a monster drop off around pick 12 or so but some guys picked late will work so hard that they make it at a team.

The other thing I noticed was that after the big man mountain went at pick 1 you had a dozen midfielders that could all make a case to be selected as the second player without any significant variation in potential ability.

Re: Welcome to tiger land Ben Lennon

bit worried about his temperament... I've heard he's a Jealous Guy

Now for nicknames

John, Lenny, Len, Vlad

I'm sure others will have better ones
my 2 cents - from a line out of my favourite beatles song:

i got blisters on my fingers!

Re: Welcome to tiger land Ben Lennon

From the paper today.

"I am ecstatic. All through the year I really wanted to get to Richmond after being at the club for a week in February, so it's really good."
"It was up in the air. I thought pick 10 at Collingwood was a strong chance, but to get my name called out at Richmond. I am over the moon."

Loving this kid already. :)

Re: Welcome to tiger land Ben Lennon

Welcome Ben, may you have a long and successful career at the Tigers :clap

This is the first real test of our revamped development program which after 1 year of ironing out the kinks is now operating at 100%. I think the goal for Lennon is to develop the skills and fitness to be a midfielder. So at VFL level he should be 50/50 HFF and midfield. Obviously at AFL level he will be a forward but in 2-3 years I would think the club would want him being a part of a 6-7 midfield rotation.

Love his kicking...a quality kick is worth 10x more than a guy who can run like Usain Bolt. Physically he is a good size and would think he will end up looking a bit like Deledio in years to come if he works hard. Yes he isn't the quickest but from the vision he is relatively quick with ball in hand and the club can improve his running with some specific training.

Re: Welcome to tiger land Ben Lennon

So what's the revamped lineup for round 1 look like now?

Beetle is a great nickname.
If we are going to call him something we better spell it right... Beatle
Kid looks a natural footballer.

He's not a Beatle, he's a beetle.

Btw, which is the official beetle thread ? This one or the junior football one ?

What about the revamped "our 3 best players in 2016"?
Fingers crossed!
