Bachar Houli - بشار حولي,

Bacher’s clangers are probably representative of our overall clangers.
We are making more clangers in the Queensland heat/dew than we have before.

True but a more acceptable number of clangers would be somewhere between none and the number he actually had last night
A few of them looked a bit ordinary

Bachar had 3 clangers, Dusty 6, Shedda 5, people always way too quick to jump on Bachar as is witnessed by the number on PRE that want to retire him.

What a finals record!
What a player!
What a fine ambassador for his family!
Richmond man.

Thankfully the anti-Bashar brigade has fizzled out with repeated top performances from our superstar.

We need to sign him up for one more year. He has looked after his body in the same way Kevin Bartlett did. May well be able to play for longer than most. Those bandy legs just keep on keeping on.

Clangers usually look ordinary. Even Dusty's.

We all know the line about statistics
And not every individual kick or mark or goal - or clanger - is necessarily the same as every other

Bachar played well the other day no question but he can be prone to making the odd panic play
The slippery conditions probably made it harder the other night

Bachar was incisive for much of the game. (One of his I50s was slipper genius. Close to career-best.)

7 turnovers and [6] score involvements. 32 touches.

His defensive work for the past fortnight has been brutal. Some say he was robbed of a Norm Smith Medal in 2017. How many other half backs have games that are rated almost equal to a Dustin Martin balltearer? Averaged 28 touches a game last year.

AFL champion half back. Probably the best in the caper. Gawd, give him strength.

Your team mate is under siege. In possession. One on him. Now two. You move to the only place he can dish it. He gives it off. A third has arrived. (This all takes 0.7 of a second.) You get around them and lay it off by foot. For an uncontested possession.

The numbers lie about Bachar Houli. He's in a lot of contests.

Bit of speculation leading into the game about whether Markov should have replaced him..well he smashed any thought of that out of the park. Bachar is not easily replace by anyone.

in real life, I got the impression it was a particularly inside game from Bachar

And he was robbed of a shot on goal when the ball only travelled 20m, not the minimum 15m

Brendon Gale on Bachar,

“I’d be very surprised, I’d be extremely surprised if Bachar wasn’t playing with us next year.
He’s got a strong position in our team now, he’s got a strong future at our club. We established the Bachar Houli Foundation which will be located at Punt Road.
His contribution to our club now and his legacy after is something we need to protect.”

Boom.

Without talking it up, I've spent a lot of my life working overseas, and most people of the Middle East and those who practice true Islam are the most friendly generous giving folk i've ever encountered. Them and the Sikhs of India. Really proud to have Bachar at the club, he's a gentleman of the highest order.
